Garage List
Not sure if this has been answered yet but who is the USA distributor for the Cr300 or the 400?

Seems like the first post isn't being updated anymore. Already paid my deposit (downpayment) directly to Alex on May 29th. We may need to deal w/ blackboxmycar (Alex) directly I suppose.

Received my two units today; not a moment too soon. This morning a fellow following myself dodged out the turning lane (narrowly missing myself) and impacted the vehicle travelling in the adjacent lane in an eerie parallel my own misfortune (the reason for the purchases was I was in the not-at-fault car's position not two weeks ago). My car is NOT moving until the system is installed and operating. All that is lacking is a uplink to the insurance agent...

Yes I stopped updating the first post as over 20 people paid their deposits. You can contact Blackboxmycar directly to purchase a camera.

UPDATE
30 Blackvue DR400G units have been sold; therefore, Blackboxmycar is ending the groupbuy pricing for the Blackvue. Finevu cameras can still be purchased with groupbuy pricing.

Had the install done yesterday and very satisfied with the work. The install took a bit longer than expected due to the location of my fusebox but he was able to get it all hooked up in the end.

I had a bit of tint up near the top so I placed it there (above the rear view mirror but below the headliner).....I just increased the brightness in the video setting and videos look ok. I also attached it to my vehicle with velcro to give me that option of removing it if i felt i needed to. Alex took pics and did a wonderful job (it looked quite clean in the end) so if you guys want to see you should msg him or maybe he'll post it up on facebook or his website.

I had my concerns prior to the install but after the finished product, Im glad I decided to go with the group buy.

Thanks to the op for setting this up.

Blackboxmycar didn't make it for E9x because it's basically the same thing. You can refer to this video to know where the fuse box is, etc.

Are there any left for the Blackvue, or am I late to the game?

As a separate question, I heard the 24/7 power kit is only useful if you've left the camera on for about 8 days with the car in park. Anyone verify this?

There might be good news for you soon

As for the powerkit question, PM Blackboxmycar. Even if that's true I'd still get it for the peace of mind

Just came back from Alex's (blackboxmycar) place to get my DR400G setup on my 2007 e90 pre lci. . Camera is setup by Alex himself, on the upper part of the windshield which is slightly tinted (stock e90 pre lci windshield). This was setup out of the box, so the settings are all default including date/time. It's pretty muck OK except that the glare/reflection of my dashboard is so visible on the video. Dunno if it was just due to the gloomy weather, or due to the upper tint on the windshield, or due to the angle the camera was set, or whatever. I will experiment to see if I can lessen (if not eliminate) the glare/reflection being captured by the video.

Any ideas folks how to get rid of glares/refelction? Alex btw set it up nicely, hiding the cord out of the sight. No errors. I like the cool pastel-like color of the switch. Tnx Alex.

For those that did the Blackvue hardwire install to the fuse box, which fuse did you use? I'm using one of the stereo fuses (according to the little fuse map in the glove box). Here's a problem I'm seeing:
  • Drive around for a bit then turn off the car to park for say, 5 minutes
  • Blackvue remains on (the car hasn't gone to sleep yet) and eventually goes into parking mode
  • Come back to car and turn on the ignition and the Blackvue seems to restart
This is kind of annoying because I lose about 30-45 seconds while the Blackvue is rebooting. Has anyone else noticed this?

Exact same problem with mine. I'm not impressed with the hardwire kit we received with this group buy. Was expecting the Power Magic box as shown on the Blackvue site.

Sorry but I don't understand why you expected the Power Magic one

VS

Power Magic powerkit:

If you're really not satisfied though, maybe try selling the power kit in classifieds section and buying the Power magic kit yourself

Note: Alex took a DIY video of how the power kit was connected to one of the fuse in the fuse box by the glove box. He'll post it here soon
I heard you need to set the camera closer to the windshield to lessen the reflection effect.

UPDATE

Due to many requests, Blackboxmycar has decided to extend the group buy sale for 30 Blackvue DR400G units. The price is $221.25. Extra will be charged for non-locals and for customers who want Power Kits (it is NOT the Power Magic powerkit). Refer to first post for details.

If you'd like to purchase one, please send it as gift to blackboxmycar@gmail.com through paypal to avoid paypal fee. If not, you can use www.blackboxmycar.com to order your Blackvue DR400G!

I also was expecting the Power Magic box. You can pick up the Power Magic Pro on eBay for around $50 including shipping, which is why I was kind of surprised that it wasn't included for the price.

I've changed my install to use one of the fuses recommended in the installation video - I'll see if it makes any difference...
