Coilover assembly - am I missing anything?
Hey all,
I'm helping a friend remove the GC camber plates on his coilovers, and I wanted to make sure we have all the right parts (assembled in the correct order) before we start putting it all together. Here's what we have: These coilovers use Koni/TCK struts with Swift springs. To replace the camber plates, we added the front spring perch (can't use OEM since the springs are 60mm), then the strut mount washer (mounted with the black line UP), then the dust sleeve/washer, the strut mount, locking washer, and top nut. Other than the strut mount gasket (not pictured), is there anything else we're missing? |

Good point! I had done some research in this a while back and apparently found out that on several coilovers, the space between the spring and shaft is too tight to support a boot. I was told it could be ripped off as the strut compresses and rebounds, which is why some brands don't include them. So we were planning on running them without (these are TC Kline struts and I believe their e90 coil overs come without boots). :
