Audi does have a plastic fetish, including oil pans. The 2.0T water pump with a plastic housing is a joke.

That said, imo, their EA888 is still better than the B46/48 junk BMW put out.

i agree, I own the 1st gen of the 2.0fsi , the 2nd worst 2.0t vw engine.

But on stage 2, alway wot, 160k km, no oil leaky issue yet, or boost, or any thing. It will come, oh yes it will come.

However, it's way easier to work on that 4cyl, and cheaper too.

Want to get it off... Pipe Wrench with a jaw that opens big enough. It will come off.

My only other suggestion is hammer on an under-sized 6-point impact socket and use an impact gun on it. Either an air impact or electric, but a 1/2-inch drive impact gun used to remove wheel bolts.

And if you don't own such tools, take it back to the shop and give a HUGE... WTF! and have them remove the cap.

Exploding plastic caps and now seized metal caps

I second the big f'ing pipe wrench. This bolt extractor set might work too

Right? I know, me personally, I've done some forty-five (45) N52 oil changes and never have had a problem.

After the BFWrench I wonder if the housing threads will stay intact. It can turn into a can of worms fast, including a replacement housing and housing gasket too.

Lemonade take: Needing a new housing is a great time to upgrade to an oil cooler!

speaking of that, is it worth the upgrade having an after market oil cooling over the OEM one?

I doubt either are necessary on a NA engine, but the OEM housing and cooler parts are readily available and super easy to add, so I go ahead and do the upgrade. If a turbo engine, I'd get the most efficient remote oil cooler I could, probably aftermarket.

If DJT violated "Lefty-Loosey" would he ADMIT his error or just be "Double-Down-Don"? (While Folks like YOU & ME try to make sense of the BS?)

Okay, you've left us hanging...

What's the "somehow got it off"?
