GPS DVD issue

Hi All

My E93 323 is HK version which is imported to Spore.
I have a GPS module and the DVD+CF is at the boot trunk.
I try to use local DVD map from other driver but it seems it cant work.

I am not sure if there are difference between Spore and HK DVD hard ware.

I have checked with some BMW owners who purchased their car from local BMW agent, all their DVD GPS disc is inserted from the front audio console not a separate DVD-rom at the boot.

Anyone can advise me?

Thanks

Suspension upgrade

Guys,

Need your advice. I am thinking of upgrading the stock suspension on my E90 325i. I have come up with the following choices:-

1. SACHS performance set
2. Bilstein basic performance set
3. H&R (just upgrade the springs and keep stock shocks)

I need to strike the right balance bt comfort and performance - I do not want to lower the car too much and affect the ride plus HK got too many pot holes and speed ramps for my liking.

I think on average the above kits should lower about 30mm so I need to know whether this is amicable to HK conditions but provide a good level of performance. Also, I was told that the SACHS kit may be a bit soft, has anyone got experience on the suspension above and can share their experience?

Most grateful for your input.

Cheers!
Lou

My two cents.

If you prefer a bit more on comfort than performance, go for SACHS. My wife and kids never complaint about the ride quality.

Second that. The Sachs coilover kit is on the supple side (obviously you can compensate for that through damper adjustments). Pound-for-pound it's not as firm as the hard-as-nails Bilsteins (I've ridden E92s with both brands). Another common option are KWs and you'll find plenty of info on the suspension if you

From personal experience, the Sachs springs may be too short if you're not looking for much of a drop. I run 19s on my E92 and couldn't manage to get more than a finger's width between the driver's side rear tire and fender after the install, despite having maxed out the adjustment threads. I expected a more thought-out product with more adjustability than that

Thanks Guys!

I did some research on this in this website - but not much help I am afraid, esp HK conditions may be different from the States and UK. So I need some honest opinions from HK members.

I wasn told that the SACHS are more comfy but I am just worried about the ride height. I have changed to 18" rims already and without the runflat tyres, the ride is excellent although a bit too high that's why I want to change to the basic SACHS suspension set (which I believe is the same as the OEM BMW sport suspention - please correct me if I am wrong) but then after some research, a lot of people recommended that Bilstein is much better. So the hesitation!

On top of that I am running on a budget and can't get those adjustable sets - which is a shame. I need to save up to go for the BMW performance intake - seen it on the web and looks fabulous. I think it cost $8,000 in HK although I understand it is selling for £415+vat roughly HK$4,600 in the UK.

Again grateful for your input!

Cheers!

Lou

White LED cluster mod

Did a mod on the 335i and on the 5er e60s
I change the oragne LED to white LED on the cluster to look like M3 and M5
You will need 10 white LED and a red marker for this mod.

If you like this mod please pm me for the price.
This mod will only take about 1 hour, so no need to leave the car.
I can do this mod after work about 7pm to 8pm

Suspension upgrade

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and currently I am driving E90 335i in HK. I have been driving 3-series for quite sometimes since E30.

Hi Lou,

I saw your posting above in relation to the suspension upgrade, fyi I have used all three brands coilovers before on a 3-series. In my own opinion, I think H&R is the best considering the price and performance but only with H&R sway bars put on as well. And Sachs and bilstein are pretty much the same. By the way I have a 2008 Bilstein (ride control) coilovers in my E90 at the moment, and have only used for 6000km only since last June. If you would also consider used, I can sell them to you at a very cheap price, coz to me they are too comfortable and am thinking to upgrade to a better one.

Also which intake you are referring to? Seems to me intake doesnt improve much on N/A engine except for better acceleration sound.

Let me know if you are interested.

Cheers
Ken

Am replacing the stock suspension on my e93. Considering the billstein ride control but in light of HKPD's modding witch hunt and the crackdown on MOT inspections, I really want to know if this is legal before I spend the cash.

I just ordered a PSS10 for my E92, not sure if it can pass yearly inspection. But think of the driving fun, finally I decided to get them.

Update- six mos with these. Took a few visits to have geometry and alignment the way I like. Ride strikes aggressive side of comfortable (better than my 993 w PS9's) but very stable and the car urges you on.
