E91 wheel choice
Hi all new on here. Recently purchased an early 2007 e91 m sport and want to put 19 inch csl reps on and maybe coilovers later on. Could anyone give me some advice on wheel sizes and offset, and recommended tyre sizes. Don't want to be using spacers if I can help it but want the wheels to fill the arch.
Any help much appreciated. |

Its a tricky one because everyones idea of "filling the arch" differs.
With the standard wheels and offsets, a 12mm spacer on the rear of a pre-LCI car makes all the difference with regards to how the wheels look sunken in, but many folk would think its not enough and go further. Theres a few websites around where you input the existing and new offset and width and it'll show you how the wheel sits compared with stock Or you can simply calculate it out yourself. Each extra inch of width has the wheel sticking out 1/2" more and in 1/2" more. a reduction in offset moves the wheel out by that distance So if you start with a 8.5J rim at ET37 (stock rears) and swap to a 9.5J rim at ET30 for instance, Your wheel will stick out 12.7mm more due to the extra width, and 7mm more due to the extra offset, giving a total change of 19.7mm outwards. You can then compare this with your car and see what you think. Also each car differs slighly, some folk will run a combination that works fine, others might run the same combination and it catches on bumps and needs the arches rolling. |

9.5 ET27 will be fairly close IMO with a 255. I've got 9.5 ET45 and I tried an 18mm spacer, I felt like it would rub so decided against it. Never actually tried it just based on looking.
