DSC, DBC and Start-off Assist

I got Check control messages for DSC, DBC malfunction and Start-off Assist disabled yesterday. I took the car to the dealer today and they said something about a possibly faulty steering column sensor or the steering column itself...
I had the warnings appear and reset 5 times in 2 days. The car is an '08 with less than 5000 miles on it
Has anyone experienced the same problem?

Yeah took it to the dealer and they replaced a faulty sensor in the steering column. Everything has been working fine since then.

steering angle sensor (szl) fault code if currently present will require replacement of the Steering angle sensor and complete vehicle programming and encoding

I had this problem too..and supposedly they replaced the steering angle sensor..I hadnt had any problems for like a month til a few days ago..I dont understand I figured changing the sensor would take care of the problem..whats funny is it happened as we had some nasty 40 degree weather with mist, drizzle, etc. Now that its warmed up the problem hasnt come back..it comes and goes..starting to get a little frustrated here..could the new sensor be fault as well ? im starting to think maybe its a glitch in the ECU..FYI i'm pre 29.2 but I think my car has has the 29.2+ software loaded...anyone else have this problem ?

I know this is a old post. But is there a permanent solution to this problem? Mine comes every now and then especially when the weather is rainy. I restart the car and it usually go's away in a few seconds. Any ideas?

Sorry to dig up an old post, but I'm having the same problem except with more error messages. I get these:

Engine malfunction - reduced power
Malfunction in transmission
DSC malfunction
Start-off assistance malfunction
DBC malfunction

Any ideas??

Either steering angle sensor or faulty ABS pump. In my case is the latter. Luckily I have Route 66 warranty to cover it. Get the car scanned for codes.

Start Off Assist Inactive

Hi Guys, I couldnt figure out how to post a question so I'm trying this. When I first got my 2006 E90 330xi I got someone to code out the Adaptive headlight error I was having. Following that I got them to try add in a couple of extras which didnt work.

Basically, to cut a long story short, this dude didnt seem to have a clue and I ended up getting a brand new error that I never had. CCID 354 Start Off Assist inactive.

Since then Ive learned to code for myself because I now dont trust anyone near my baby

Is there a way to code out CCID 354? I wont miss the feature as I've great clutch control and dont need it anyway.

Cheers!
