Help Please: Stripped subframe bolt/nut

Hello. Installing a B12 kit and stripped both the bolt an nut.

Running to the dealership right now, can some help with part numbers for the bolt nut... lower subframe right?

good kits on Amazon usually cost about $30-40
I always like using excuses to but new tools.

Hex bolt with washer

Locking nut

If the dealer doesn't have one, go to a hardware store and get a M12x1.5 thread pitch 120MM long Grade 8 bolt and nut. Not a panic situation.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Exactly! Absolutely Zero need to remove this bolt. It possible that the local hardware store will have bolt and nut to suffice. I have purchase from Fastenal before. Also same size and spec is used my other Euros as well. Mercedes and AUdi/VW that I know.

Thanks. Ran to the stealership and grabbed the parts. They tried to charge me $31 for the above mentioned but immediately asked for a discount. Ended up paying $18, not bad especially that I didn't have to wait for shipping.

Most of the well known videos of the install, instructed to remove the bolt.

I've even asked on a thread that I started and received the same suggestions.

If only someone would have said that it's not needed

Do you guys uninstall the calipers, or compress the spring while it's on the spindle to get it out?

Compress the strut assembly and disconnect headlight leveling sensor rod (if equipped) yes. Everything else no.

I remove the other side of the thrust arm at the steering knuckle. The ball joints on the E90 separate like oil and water. Same difference.
