I saw Supersprint's exhaust and DP before, I think it is no diffrent from my DP that has made in China factory (the factory is mainly produced the exhaust for GTR35 and overseas like US, England and the cutomer will stamp with their own brand when goods is arrived to destination, same as the CF bodykit supplier I have in hand too), my DP which made in 2mm stainless steel is just asking for less than US$300.

Absolute BS...why would mandrel bending cost more? Have any of you ever used a mandrel bender? It takes WAY less time then welding a bunch of bends together and less machinery!!! Therefore, LESS cost to produce!!! ALL of you bimmer guys that think these outrageous costs we are forced to pay for so called "quality" parts need to go look at the high end JDM parts for the Japanese cars. We are getting RAPED! seriously!

A lot of mandrel benders are limited to the amount of bends it can make on the same pipe due to clearance of the pipe and the machine, although the downpipe design on these cars don't really seem intricate enough for that to be the case..

Let's look and see why the price is so high.
Notice that the pipes are 100% mandrel bent with no welds. This alone demands high dollars.
When Riss Racing first came out with their pipes, they said that the pipes were 100% mandrel bent and then we came to find out that they were 100% mandrel bent pieces that were welded together. They grinded down the welds on the outside and poilshed them to make it look as if it was one piece.
When confronted, they said that 100% mandrel bent would cost a whole bunch more...Hence the reason why SS DPs are so expensive.

Another thing to think about is that they are using the flex joints, which uses the same ideology as the OEM DPs. I'm sure that wasn't cheap either.
The question is, "Do we really need the flex fit in the DPs?"
I personally don't think so because we have so much give throughout the rest of the exhaust.
Yes, but they've also broken each pipe into two pieces. Its unnecessary and I doubt it makes much of a difference. But, according to 'other' dp makers, they must be better since they cost more.

Its kind of like the GruppeM intake.
that thing has been out for years.
Is it worth it? No but you can see the detail, work, and R&D that went into something like that.
I'd like to reitterate this comment.

What kind of R&D is going into make them bigger and straighter??? Sorry, but it's not that much work. It'd be like someone getting one of their custom exhausts and then making a jig for it. BOOM, DONE! Seriously, it's not like it's a header for an NA car where it's being tuned for back pressure and all like Hytech does with their anti-reversion bits. IN fact, maybe we should all get in touch with them...they'd prolly get shit done faster for these cars and make more power!

There was once a time when these were the only downpipes on the market. A year before Riss, 2 before AR, and 3 before VK, supersprint was the only company offering dps.

When you come out first, you can charge whatever you want. Clean house, then let the other companies come in and do it cheaper while you move on to the next one.

It's not like they just came out last week offering up $2k downpipes.
