I really like it. Is this supposed to replace the TT? I heard it's confirmed there wont be a TT Mk3. If so, this will look 100% more aggressive than the TT. The current TT only looks good with S and RS bodywork.

It seriously looks like a aggresive TT. Is there any real confirmation that a R4 is really gonna be made? It's been thrown up in the air for the longest time now.

It's still speculation. But with no TT v3, it isn't a stretch to think of an evolving e-tron concept as a natural replacement.

if its a mid-engine car, i'd definitely buy it... i've had a chance to drive tons of front engine cars but never had any extensive experience with mid engine cars... if this can deliver at a cost under 80k, i am all for it!

The R4 will definitely be coming, I think Audi have all but confirmed it. Price is the sticking point in my opinion, will it replace the TT and thus be priced at it's level or will it's pricing be moved above that point to an area reserved for the likes of the Cayman?

I personally think that there is still a role to be played by the TT, it's probably closer to the 1 series Coupe than it ever was the Z4, to me this R4 is it's direct competitor.

better looking than the current tt for sure.
but I wonder if the rear is that short, where are they gonna put the engine if it is supposed to be mid engine configuration.

If it keeps that short tail then it all but confirms the engine will be transverse like the TT uses only in it's case it's in the front. If true then it would also mean that it will use the similar Haldex system that is to be adopted by Lamboghini in all it's future models.

BTW if this car gets the TT-RS 2.5TFSI engine then not only will the Cayman S have something to worry about but so will the bigger R8.

It really makes me think, if this potential R4 really does make it and is mid engine, with the same power as the TT-RS or even better..... Where will it it sit? In between the TT-RS and R8? If this new ride is inbetween the RS and R8, it'd be overpriced >_>

The Haldex system is more geared towards the rear right? The current TT-RS is still front biased if I'm not mistaken.

Looks awesome, could add another two or 3 inches to the wheelbase though, looks really compact.

Well this is why I question the TT being retired after this model, to me the R4 will slot in above the current price of the TT and as such will leave a huge hole in their line up.

As for the awd system, think of it as a TT system in reverse. Also VAG have signed a contract with Haldex to develop their current system for future models, the actual Haldex system has a lot of potential and with help from the VAG group I am expecting great things to come. The very fact the Lamborghini will be using it says more about the setup than any words can from me.
