That's the same ZB number I picked. I can "fix" an ODA for you. Can you send me you Bimmerlabs account name and password via PM. I'll drop in a custom file for you. Then you can flash like any other Bimmerlabs tune.

Please make sure the password is something unique to Bimmerlabs.

I'll send the file to Hassmashine so he can post it on his next update.

BTW is this a manual gearbox or Auto?

Thank you for doing this. Much appreciated. Car is ZF auto. Just sent you a PM.

Log into your account, you should now have a custom file that labeled 325I with powerclass

you will need to flash the RSA delete and then this custom file, just follow Bimmerlabs instructions

Get this working, and I can do something for that pathetic tune BME gave you for the ZF transmission. With the 2.5 Liter motor you need it.

On another note, I was looking at the 323 file and I've never seen the full load fuel mixtures as lean as these. 323I on the bottom.

The rest of the 323 tune looks like the normal BMW restrictions.

I will try and flash it tonight after work and post an update. Thank you. Definitely agree about the transmission. It is very slow to respond/change. Quite annoying in fact.

Just been looking at the instructions for flashing. I don’t have the Bimmergeeks.net cable, only an ebay one. I have flashed using winkfp with it before and done lots of coding. I'm thinking i might have to get the Bimmergeeks.net cable rather than risk it, even if it has flashed successfully before. What's your opinion?

I'd say that's sound thinking.

Well i had a think about the cable thing and decided to take the gamble as i remember flashing quite a few different cars with this cable with no issues, and it went through with no problems. Made sure to double check all the settings in the Bimmerlabs guide, and also watched the guide posted by E92William (nice guide by the way) Cleared the codes and took it for a small drive around the block. It went really well, scanned the car again when i got back and no codes, except for a DME coding one, which i think is normal. Will drive it to work tomorrow which is about 60km return and see how it goes.

Sounds good, let us know how it runs.

BTW, was looking at your stock ZF trans tune. It looks horrible, hard to imagine it could be worse then what I've seen on the 3.0 liter versions. Does your car really upshift at 6600-6700 RPM regardless of manual mode or Drive? File has a max RPM (engine protection) of 6600 while the other ZF tunes are 7100. Shit maps control the final number but they are written to match pretty closely

Hi EvaBmw, like you, I've also got a E91 323i.

Very impressive work you've decided to do. I'm really interested in how it all turns out and if it works without a hitch I might even consider doing it myself.

Car ran really well today. Not as much of i power difference as i thought there would be but definitely noticeable. It seems to be more mid range power. Economy is the same 7.7 L/100km on my work trip. All in all i think it was a worthwhile mod to do. More power and the same fuel economy which is a great result.

Yeah it shifts at 6500rpm which is the redline on my cluster, doesn't matter what mode your in. It really pisses me off some days. The kickdown takes about 2 secs before it actually works. I always wondered why people called autos slush boxes. Now i know.

Thanks, yeah it worked out well i think. Have you looked at your manifold to see how many Disas it has?

The gearbox is totally fixable.

It's really a screwy thing. Right now your peak power is about 6500 and the trans will shift 100 rpm later during that shift, it cuts engine power by about 50%.

I'm looking at your ZF file but the easy thing would be to flash the 330 Or 325 ZF tune your gearbox.

No I haven't looked yet, I'll try this weekend when I get some time.

What year model is your car and where did you get your parts from?

I'm located in Brisbane and have a BimmerGeeks cable. Where are you based? If you're relatively close, I'm happy to loan you my cable if you ever need it.

I also totally get what you mean about the gearbox, it really is a slush box. I hate how long it takes to downshift. I end up driving most of the time in sport mode just to get some responsiveness. Would be interesting to hear you comments if you go ahead and do a gearbox flash.

Is that something that can i do easily with winkfp or is it more complicated?

I'm down in Milton NSW unfortunately, but thanks for the offer. My car is an early 06 build.

Can be done with Winfkp. If I have time I'll drop something in you Bimmerlabs account.

Your cable does scare me a little. While my old Z4 flashed anything with a standard ODB cable. many people have had problems flashing the E90 gearboxes with normal cables. Even cables that worked on the DME seems to fail on other modules.

I would not flash any transmission with a generic OBD cable. Technically, it could be recovered with BDM - but you will have to remove the transmission, take it apart to get at the module, and then hope that somebody knows how to do it (or has time for it).

Thank you very much. Yeah, i don't think I'll push my luck any further. I'm going to order a bimmergeeks cable.

Yes i think you're right. It was quite risky doing it once, attempting it again would be a bit retarded. I will order the Bimmergeeks cable. Thanks for the advice.

So i have been running the 325i tune for about 10 days now, and it definitely goes a shitload better than it used to. Thanks very much to rjahl for taking the time to do it. Legend.
