is there an SIB for the oil burning and what would irregular consumption be?

With my 323i I am getting about 1500 kms per liter of oil and that seems high how many kms were you getting and how did you find out that this is the fix also if I buy this set I might end up doing the work myself do you know if there is any special BMW tools needed or would it be better (more cost effective) to bring it to a shop
