I just slid them onto the connection. They fit snugly and that pipe is under vacuum so they're not going to blow off.

Oh, ok. And at the other end you just pull the hose off? Is it held on by anything? I just don't want to break anything so I can put everything back if need be

I would recommened to buy a small filter for the open part of the DV so nothing gets inside.

Also the plugs for the intake tubes, can be bought from any company making BOV kits and CP kits.. I remember AA was selling just the plugs for a few dollars.

Get a microfilter & zip tie it onto the hose side of the DVs to prevent anything going in there. I'm not sure how, but I'm sure the plastic tube unlocks from the OEM DV somehow. I'm guessing it's attached with glue, so you should try heating it up with a heat gun/hair dryer & slowly loosing it apart. You should be able to find plugs from any of the companies that make charge pipes (ER, ETS, AA, etc etc)

I left the hose attached and just zip tied it out of the way because I was just going to run it for a couple weeks to see how I liked it. Unfortunately, the hose has to be cut to remove it from the DV.

I also recommend running the filter. There shouldn't be any air entering the BOV, but i've read that Helix has determined a small amount of reversion occurs and draws some unfiltered air in.

I am still under warranty. Do you think it would be a smart idea to just cap the hole in the intake tubing, and leave the hoses disconnected from it? Then when a dealer visit comes all I have to do it reconnect the hanging hoses?

This method (as far as I understand) would stoll make the BOV sound and wouldnt require a filter right?

That's exactly what I did.

Sounds good. Did you tie the tubes down to anything or just left them hanging?

Zip tie them down -- Guarantees that don't flop around and get melted by accident b/c they start resting on a hot intake manifold or oil filter

I zip tied them. Its been a long time and I can't what exactly I zip tied them to, but I remember there are a couple really convenient locations. Remember to have a little slack in the hose when you zip tie them so that when the engine rocks it won't put pull on the hoses.

It takes less 2 minutes to put everything back to stock doing it this way.

Youll get a cooler crisp sound with the hose removed from the bov vs leaving it dangling around.

Does anyone have a sound clip for this? It sounds interesting and easy enough to try but I'd prefer to hear it before doing it.

I dont like lots of the BOV sounds... Particularly bad is the HKS :

Just to try it out unhook the front DV hose from the intake pipe and rev the car a couple times. Without capping the connector I wouldn't drive around with it like that, but just revving it a couple times isn't going to do any damage(assuming you don't do it during a sand storm.)

Thanks guys. Same sound disconnected as having the hoses dangling? I know stretchnpoke said the sound isn't as crisp?
