Hi. New guy from Manchester, Just bought this 320d.
I'm still learning new things about it at the minute, looking to get the body work up to standard as there is few scratches on it service and get her booked in for her recall. The pictures don't show the true colour she's a real dark navy even though on log book it says black. It's got 117k on the clock. Will have a good look on this forum and really looking forward to getting to know people 👍🏻 |

New E93 Owner
Hi all
Just returned to the BMW scene after a few years away. Has a E46 Coupe before then my dream car of a Alpina B3.3 Convertible. After that a Lexus SC430 then a Mercedes 350 Sport Cab AMG but really missed the BMW quality so back with the E93. Looks a great place for help and advice so looking forward to contributing too. Added a couple of pics below but not had much time to do anything too her just yet but plenty planned.

'12 E92 335D just bought.
Hi All,
Just a few questions for you all please. I've just bought a 335D form a well known auction and picking it up later this week. Done the VIN and the engines coming up as an M57Y, not a N57? There's a p0101 and 0112 on it. Am I correct in thinking thats the MAF and filter? Also, whats the best OBD2 tool for it? Will post up pics once I've got it. Hopefully it wont be a pile of crap. Thanks in advance. |

Lots of info on here and its still pretty active so get stuck in... The 335D in the E9X series was always the M57 Twin Turbo unit, the N57 only came to the 330D as of late 2009 in this generation. The twin turbo N57 was introduced later into the F series. Your p0101 code is a generic code for the MAF but I would imagine there are more specific BMW codes behind that so I would get it scanned. Many here either use Carly for BMW to scan/code their vehicles or if you're feeling brave you can get into ISTA/INPA. Carly is a great tool and really easy to use whereas ISTA/INPA is much more in depth and can do a lot more but requires a bit more learning, plenty of info here though. The latter needs to be installed on a laptop and use an OBD cable whereas Carly you use a Bluetooth/WiFi OBD adapter and an app on your smartphone. I use both however, Carly is the easiest to quickly scan and see what is going on. If you're anywhere near MK/Bucks then I'd be happy to scan it for you. |

I'm about 120miles away from you and wont be anywhere near apart from tomorrow, probably around 2ish, when I'm bringing the car back from Surrey. I'm hoping its just gonna be a MAF and air filter swap as it's fairly low miles and FSH, I'm thinking the codes might've been triggered by the notorious auction drivers as the fault codes didn't show on the dashboard photos but were picked up on the AA inspection maybe later on. I've read they're still drivable with these codes but I'm taking a new MAF and filter with me and a generic code reader, just in case. Stress levels are rising. The last car I bought from auction needed a new MAF but it ran like a dog (chugging/juddering at 50) all the way home. I've got an 1hr to appraise it to see if it fits the description then its off, back to sunny S.Wales. |

Hi all! I'm new here, but recently purchased a 56-plate 320d, le mans blue, M sport bits, and style 194 wheels. It's replacing the Fiat Panda 1.1 I had as a daily, and is such a huge upgrade, even at a fairly low price!
At home I also have a 2007 BMW Z4 3.0si coupe (E86) which is my mistress and soaks up most of my funds! Now I have two bimmers to soak up my funds!! Last edited by lemans_e91; 06-13-2019 at 01:14 AM.. |

New E91 335i owner
Hi all, picked up my E91 335i at the weekend and pleased with it so far:
Space Grey, Red Brown Dakota leather, rare manual gearbox and pretty much standard. Only plans are to tidy her up a little, wheel refurb and and perhaps get it lowered on coilovers Last edited by glendog74; 06-12-2019 at 05:25 PM.. |

The list of stuff I've repaired on it since I've owned it is insane. £3500 worth including new ECU, CAS etc haha.

Rocker gaskets aren't too bad! You'll be alright. About £35 for the cover, £10 for some decent sealant and 3/4 hours of beer o'clock
