Engine oil recommendation for lightly modified n54

What engine oil should I use for my car?

It only has a few mods including upgraded Intercooler, charge pipe, MHD Stage 1+ , and XHP stage 2.

I heard that 5w40 might be a good choice?

I was thinking may be Castrol Edge 5w40 is fairly affordable.

Thought?

Motul 8100 X-cess 5w-40, if you can get a discount through someone that buys bulk parts is best

Vegetable, canola, extra virgin olive, use the search button, or put a gun in your mouth.

The only stuff I run is WD40 because the 40 stands for 40W oil and our cars do not take anything less than that.

I'd probably run;

Amsoil, Redline, Royal Purple, Motul, Liqui Moly

in a 5w-40 weight. I'd also change it out every 5000 to 7500 miles with an engine oil flush.

A clean engine is a happy engine.

I'd also run a catch can and a Rob Beck PCV valve & Cap and change the check valve/ hose every 50,000 miles.

I just sent a 3000 mile sample of Redline 5W-30 to Blackstone with TBN. I'm going to compare this to PUP and see how it performs with running E85 on a full time basis

Mine is getting Rotella T6 until I decide to try FCP Euro for Liqui Moly and their lifetime warranty setup.

Rosetta r6 is only semi-synthetic...rosetta stone is the full synthetic version.

As promised.

"This sample is pretty good overall. Most metals are steady if not just a little improved. Iron is the exception: it went up despite this being a shorter interval (and without any track use on the oil). Not exactly the perfect trend (normally iron improves on shorter/easier runs), but it's not necessarily out of line enough to think it's a problem, either. And it's not like a 2 ppm increase is an awful lot in the grand scheme of things. We'll watch it, of course, but for now, we're still considering this a good report. The TBN was strong at 4.1 (1.0 is low). Try 5,000 miles this time."

Regular oil 10w-30 will do. It's only $2.00 a quart. Quaker State!!!!😜
