Unhappy E90 N53 Rough idle HELP!

Hello everyone

First time posting so be gentle.
My bmw E90 325i N53 has a problem i can't figure out.

A year ago it got a “new” engine with only 73k kilometres on the clock.
It has been driving fantastic until now.

It has a rough idle (see video).

The idle regulator and intake manifold has been changed but the idle is still rough and shaky.
When driving there is no problem. It pulls and drives as it should.

Anyone know what it is?

Thanks

If it's shaking when it's on idle or slow driving, i think it maybe the engine mounts but not sure.

Not shaking when driving slow. When i let go of the gas it kind of jumps one time and then fine again.

I tried disconnecting the MAF sensor but it dont seem to be that.
Will try to check the mounts next.

Dont know if anyone is following this thread but i will post anyway.

The engine mounts are fine. I have found a crack in the valve cover with a smoke machine. Will chance it and see if it resolves the problem.

I will let you know in a couple of days.

Valve cover

So the leak was here. Took it to a shop. Engine runs good again!

They say however it can be a sign that the whole block will crack in some time? Anyone heard of this?

Hello, great to hear you figured out.

I am no expert but i found that valve cover (not just the gasket that goes under) tend to crack or need to be replaced after 100k ~ 150k miles so if you're around that, i would consider replacing it.

I had to do it and it was fairly doable job even for me as a beginner. Part itself is around $200
