double clicks - right door left door
Hello, Today my 2007 335i Coupe started acting up. The windows won't go down, the mirrors won't fold in, and there is a double click coming from the right door, then left door, then right door, then left door, ....... This will continue for several minutes after I turn off the engine and exit the car and lock it.
The power rear sunshade and door locks both work. I did have a low battery light come on the other day when it was cold but it does not come on now and the car starts just fine. Any ideas? |

Have you scanned for codes? That really should be your first action and then go from there.
As far as ideas...it's either the battery or the footwell module (FRM). But to go with Occam, I'd think about the battery first, especially if you're on the original battery (not unlikely) or maybe the second. Do you know? A new OEM battery (from the dealer no less) should be around $200. |

Low battery voltage causes all sorts of weird, disparate electronic issues. I'd start there, especially since it warned of low voltage once--an aging battery may perform better/worse in certain conditions but it won't magically repair itself if it's failing.

A battery discharge message is the first sign of the battery dying. I bought mine at Autozone and iCarly to register it for $187. Just about any auto parts store will test your battery for free.

I'll ask the local auto parts if they have a code reader. And I'll be putting in a battery soon. The current battery (no pun intended) is the second one and was put in about five or six years ago. |

My car's a year older than yours, I live up North, and I'm only on my second battery. So it's not surprising that you're only on your second. Getting ready for your third. |

Okay. Had dealer install new battery. Still getting the clicking and the window switches and mirror switches don't work on drivers side. Passenger side window still works when using passenger side switch.
Service tech said he could scan with an odb for $40. I said maybe later. It sounds like mirrors are trying to move (they don't need to though). |
