Running out of things to mod tbh, external panels, interior, NBT, headlights, stereo, suspension, wheels etc are all done. All that is left is ST, manual conversion and PI plus a tune... maybe a big brake kit and some fluffy dice... actually fluffy dice would look a bit ricer so nah

Vince dropped by tonight to check out the car and the parts we got back from Sydney...
Good news is all the big parts are accounted for, just a few smalls like bolts, ring clamps and a couple of hoses to get

Then we started talking about the build.... the plan at this stage is to do the ST first and get the car running again on a base Motiv ST map....
That in itself is going to be a big job because it requires re-routing cooling system from the drivers to passenger side (water expansion tank, hoses etc) along with the vac canisters and vac lines. Then working out how to connect up the turbo, manifold, waste gate, dump pipes, O2 sensor etc and then wrap everything to prevent it from melting lol

Once we get it running and settled down, stage 2 will be the manual conversion to make sure the drive train can take the extra HP. That means replacing the transmission, drive shaft, fitting a new LSD, diff and axels. Next comes wiring harness, shifter assembly and programming to make sure the car doesn't think it still a auto

Hopefully we get all that sorted and then can move onto stage 3, upgrading the fueling and intercooling system. Fit in the stage 3 LPFP, install PI and controller. Install new intake manifold and 8" intercooler (?) which will require the charge pipe etc to be modified, then finally a custom ST Motiv tune to cap it all off

Now sure how many saturdays this will take, but it is going to be mighty task. Let the fun begin

You might as well buy Duck's long motor and put it on an engine stand and start a proper forged engine build to really throw some boost at it

What a big project!! And lots of money going in

May I ask what is so special to have single turbo?
More top end power? But doesn't it create more turbo lag?

Two sets of aftermarket twins that smoked in less than 10,000 km
I don't want to spend money on a third set, so it's ST for me

Mind letting us know which models gave up the goose? For this reason along ST makes the most sense.

2 brand new sets of turbo within 10,000km!?
I think I shouldn't have bought a BMW now.

I hope it's just because of aftermarket and OEM turbo is good to go except the wastegate rattle?

If I were you to spend so much money, I would have sold the car and bought the only (V8) and last (NA) M3 (E92).

First set were RBs, second set were Pure stage 2s
Lots of guys stick with OEM twins, they seem to be the most reliable of the twins out there atm

OEMs seem to be more reliable then the aftermarkets. I may have been just unlucky but I cant go back to OEM because once you have driven on upgraded turbos there is simply no going back

You of course are correct about being able to buy an M3 with the money Ive spent on the E92. Never set off to do a big build, it kinda just happened. I'm past the point of no return, will never get my money back, but no regrets Have enjoyed every minute and there's not much on the road that can keep up with it, well before half the engine was pulled out hahahahh

Costs plenty if you do it right with all the good stuff. And you are going to need it all sooner than you think with an ST.
