Too good to be true???

I'm always a little sceptical about some 'groupon' offers but they are offering 70% off the following...
http://www.gadgetwizard.co.uk/produc...ental-Control-
So, online it's £325 but being offered for £99 via the groupon offer.

I struggle to see this being without a catch. Why offer such a large discount - surely 50% off would grab enough attention. Bearing in mind this company will have to pay groupon a chunk of their proceeds they'll virtually be giving this stuff away.

Or, is it simply that this car is crap, and nobody wants it. I know nothing about these sorts of toys but I'd imagine a 4yr old being well pleased with it.

I'm half tempted to get a black one that my Daughter can use then put away for my little boy in the future. Surely £99 (plus postage I think) is a worthy punt???

Any thoughts??? All comments on Audi's lack-lustre handling welcomed .

Got to be worth £99 that.

I've just bought this from Toys R Us for my daughter for Christmas.

£129

I take it you can return the child if it's not suitable .

I know this going to sound mad but I'll check Toy r Us to compare the spec .

If they're freely available at £100-ish then I'd rather use someone with a shop-front where I can return it if any problems. These guys have probably intentially inflated the online price, just for this week whilst people are visiting their site, to make the deal look good. Seems like cheating a bit so fuck em .

A little bit of digging...

Both have 6v batteries. 12v and even 24v are available.

Both carry around 30/35kgs and last 1hr on a charge.

Both 'max-out' at 3kph.

So, it sounds a decent enough offer, but whether the £25 premium of Toys r Us is worthwhile, if open to debate.

Probably a ruck load of other online retailers also offering this type of thing for similar prices. Perhaps I was right to be cynical.

...same thing here for £129, so maybe still a decent enough offer, but not enough for me to 'add' this to the already long Christmas present list - it's not THAT good a deal...

I bought my lad a Peg Pegero 12v jeep a few years ago, this had 2 forward speeds and a reverse, it was fairly decent to be honest and you could restict it to the slower speed until they were old enough to handle the extra power !!!!

Dont know what the 6v ones are like though, the one I got from Toys R Us gets ok reviews from people who've bought it.

However it might also be really shit !!

Correct - buying him a TT convertible at an impressionable age will probably make him good with colours at a later stage in life.

In fairness, he's only 1 week 2 days old so, fairly easy going. The biggest event today was that his belly-button fell off .

Jeeez Roger...you really are after all the deals at the moment aren't you!! Stop worrying about how good the deal is and BUY IT....let gadget wizard worry about the price!

Also, with this plastic Audi as your new family transport, you might finally have a car that's more desirable than mine

One of our online businesses is a voucher site so we know how it works.

These guys take the money upfront instead of handing off to the merchant or retailer. Believe it or not a load of people don't turn up to things like massages, car valeting etc. This gives them very big margins and allows them to move into goods orders like this one.

They garuntee to shift a specified number of units with the merchant for their distressed stock. The retailer get their cash back for goods that are end of line or overbought and hope to acquire a bunch of new customers that go onto their marketing and mailing lists. Groupon have millions of users so are a very attractive concept for customer procurement to some businesses.

There is no catch
