HPF FMIC & XI, bracket modification question
I'm interested in the intercooler for 335xi. HPF is one of the choice I'm looking at. On HPF's website, they said the support bracket would need to modify on the XI.
Any xi owner has HPF FMIC on? What kind of modification needed? and how dificult it is? Thank you.

I actually called them Friday and they are getting a xdrive in this weekend to work on. They told me to check back Wednesday to see if they got it figured out.

I'm looking at buying a FMIC from a fellow member here, but not really sure if it will fit. I'm afraid, I might have to wait for the words from HPF.

I just installed my HPF front mount and it was easy as pie. Some trimming and some patience and not a problem. I am also designing up some brackets like I said before and sending the prints over to HPF. I will let you know how mine ends up.

The brackets is what I heard that need to be fabricated. Hopefully they will come out with ones soon.

OP what ever came of this? I like HPF's intercooler because of the ease of install but the lack of mounting brackets for the 335xi has holding back from grabbing one. Did they get the brackets figured out?

How are you doing I have an XI and the HPF intercooler. I am in manufacturing and i understand weight loads tensil strengths and things like that. The factory screws are more than enough to hold the intercooler up. The added supports are over kill so unless you plan on rallyeing your car you will be fine. I have about 7,500 miles on the intercooler and they are great. No problems.

I have the Helix on my 2011 335 x-drive. Installed with zero trimming! Fits perfectly!

I'm curious, what was the answer to this? On their site, it says:
"Additional support mounting brackets will not bolt directly to the sway bar mounts in the XI models. Additional bracket modification may be required. Call for more details." edit: Had a quick conversation with HPF: they originally had assumptions about the installation of the FMIC on the xi... since then they have designed brackets especially for the xi. For that installation about the only thing which needs to be modified is trimming the front bumper a bit which is the same modification needed for any 335i or xi.
