'11 328i BT/AUX/USB not working!!

hey guys, hoping someone can help my problem.. bear with me!

I have a 2011 328i sedan (production date: 9/2010)
VIN description:
6AA BMW TELESERVICES
6AB CONTROL TELESERVICES
6FL USB/AUDIO INTERFACE
6VC CONTROL COMBOX
620 VOICE INPUT SYSTEM
639 COMPLETE PREP. CELLULAR PHONE USA/CDN

my problem is I just bought the car and realized the bluetooth function doesn't work. I have an iPhone 6 and when I hit the bluetooth function it just remains loading ongoing and never anything else (never shows to pair anything, just "thinking")

also, the USB in the glove box both charges my phone as well as transfers music from a USB stick. the AUX/USB, however, doesn't charge or play music. I got the BMW Y-cable and it still does nothing but say "the accessory may not work" on my iPhone. no music, no charging. i tried several AUX cords and nothing. I tried the USB stick in the center console.. nothing. the option under "AUX" where you should be able to adjust the volume.. I am not able to at all.

also, I tried updating the software, but the USB in the center console won't read. it doesn't work from the glove box USB either. the "current software version" doesn't show anything. just blank. the bmw.com/update shows that I have an eligible update.
I tried resetting iDrive by holding the volume button, but nothing.

I'm not sure if it's a default in the audio interface, or my combox all together.

One more thing is the "voice commands" doesn't work. I press the steering wheel button and she says "say a command" but when I do, she doesn't seem to hear me.

Can anyone help? so much appreciated!

That's a pretty basic thing that should work on your car. The first thing I'd do is visit a BMW dealership and have them help you pair the iPhone to your car. If they can't do it, they might have a service tech help...then you have your foot in the door for a possible quick diagnosis.

BMW was baffled and couldn't tell me much but that my combox needs replaced and it would be $1k. but the USB in the glove box works so that doesn't make sense

non- iDrive: Can you press Audio button, then see a list of sources, and see Tuner vs. CD vs. Aux vs. USB? You should be able to.

i-Drive: Can you...
Via iDrive, Aux playback...
1. "CD/Multimedia"
2. If applicable, "External devices"
3. "AUX front"
Starting audio playback with USB...
If the audio device has a device name, the name
is displayed.
1. "CD/Multimedia"
2. "External devices"
3. Select the USB symbol.
The name of the audio device may appear.[/INDENT]
