Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the glow plugs only came on when the engine was cold and then went off? I don’t think they would come on after that? When I am talking about the engine I was talking about the DPf temperature which you can interrogate under live data? According to the garage glow plug failure is the commonest fault with bmw not regenerating. By the way has anyone ever had their 335 terra cleaned, and if so what was the result?

Glow plugs are cycling up to coolant temp of 75degC. This is used for emissions and noise control. If your thermostat has failed and your motor does not reach 75C you will kill the glow plug control module quite fast. Faults within the glow plug control system will not stop DPF regenerations but not reaching 75C will. Good luck.
