WANTED- ESS Supercharger Install Instructions

I need a copy of the ESS N52 supercharger instructions.
I bought a S/C kit but got no install instructions.

Also need the numbers for the new belt used.

Thanks.

Bit off topic...
Looking to get a new kit in January, if you by chance manage to get your machinist pal to fiddle with some smaller pulleys, pls share!

I was looking at the main bracket, it is a nice billet piece. It is basically symmetrical which would make it easier.

I'll take a closer look at the pulley. I still think that a Vortech pulley will work, even if needs a small amount of machining.

Supercharger has a pulley 115mm = 4.5275".

4.25" is 108mm.
Just ordered this size from Vortech. Looks the same, will check dimensions when it arrives.

If you can - get a different tune. As best as i can tell, ESS could barely make it run in the first place, and they probably arent interested in helping out with a used kit. BPC should be able to help - i can do a maf delete tune (maybe needed with boost), but there's more that needs to be done for it to run properly.

That is the plan. It has bigger injectors that needs to be tuned for. BPC did the install and tune with this SC.

Looking at the N54 intake manifold and seeing if it will make room for a water-air intercooler. If it would run and could be coded to work right without having the TB in place would also free up some needed space.

It is possible to do a TB delete, we've done it on the MSV70 (would not recommend it) and it would be could if the b58 intake/intercooler would bolt up, but the ports are different.

TB function?
Is it really only for 'backup' in case of valvetronic failure or does it open and close more ofter?
For instance during deceleration it could close briefly to create vacuum in the intake manifold so the pcv can go into the intake?
So is it constantly opening and closing during driving?

If I could get an adapter manifold to go from N52 head to tubes in the same location as the S54 ITBs, then a VF or Race Marque intercooled manifold could be used.

Its more for safety than anything, like you said in case of valvetronic failure.

It seems that valvetronic failure is a very rare event and if BMW wanted to control 'runaway' rpm they could easily cut the fuel or spark instead of blocking off the intake inlet.

Having said that, BMW is very smart and cleaver, and I am sure that the TB has other functions. If it was just for rev limiter, they could have eliminated it all together.

If it 'modulates' and tracks the valvetronic position, it could as it has a stepper motor and position sensor, it could provide just a small vacuum to be present in the intake manifold for the pcv.
So it moves almost in unison with the valvetronic motor?

No. It only closes at low rpm/load. The rest of the time it stays open.

Do get a custom tune for the SC, one from original ESS isn't producing as much power as it should at top end, but their low rev drivability is great almost identical to stock.

The S/C has been on my car for 10000km so far. I did have a leak from the S/C but that's my installer's fault, otherwise everything is working as intended.

For the 115mm pulley I had to drop a belt size. I forget exactly what the number was but it was one digit off from the original. I was getting belt squeak and decided to throw on a tighter belt. I still need to save money for meth
I think the install is one ESSs website

You are welcome!
By the way I am installing an oil/water gauge using the sensors it comes with it, hopefully can provide some data on how hot the engine is running with the S/C.
