We're you able to force an erase though?

I did brick that one MSV80, but we were still hand editing 0da files and I made the checksum range 0xFFFFFFFF by accident.. lol

Still recovered it though.

For one brick yes. This particular one I ended up overwriting the boot sector and it got stuck in a loop and wasn’t responsive to any commands

none of my modules have been updated since 07, build date is 08/07 for an 08 model year.

I wanted to get the IM manifold on, the DME flashed and the 330 euro software in my trans controller before I attempted a full car update.

If you do a 'full car update', it's just going to delete the tune. Best to do that first, also sometimes really old software causes issues when tuning.

got everything done yesterday. Had some slight issues with the batch file not copying files, but that may very well have been my win7 install and some permissions things.
I didn't feel confident in flashing it myself manually, so I just copied the files where the batch file wanted them and ran it.

worked flawlessly after that.
RSA delete took about 30 minutes.
328-330 file took about 5

nice! is your BMW Tools installation in the default location? (C:\). Either that or you can run it as administrator.

it's in the default locations.

I ran it as administrator right from the first try.

it simply wouldn't copy the files. The directories were there.

a simple copy/paste and I ran the batch file again and it worked fine.
way less scary than setting up winkfp myself.

a quick 0-60 timer today proved that it did something.
7.1 to 60. not bad for a station wagon.

Hey man, got any tips or areas to look out for now that you're done? Finally got the oil out and cleaned it all up and I was hoping to finish by the New Year.

If this is the wrong place, please PM me.

just that if the batch file fails with a "file missing" error, look in it and just copy paste the files it wants to the directories.

other than that issue I had no problems with the winkfp parts of it.
In swapping my manifold I found that my 328 PCV hose had two outlets, but my 330 intake had only one nipple. The hose was previously broken by somebody, so I replaced the entire thing with a piece of 3/4 hose slipped over the cut off quick connects. I probably won't bother ordering the correct one.

Well, did the deed, install went great. Found out they removed that 4-port wiring hub for the PCV heater (or oil bladder for the 330i) as part of the "recall" process.

Went to do the flash and while both the RSA Delete and 330 flash reported "programming ok" I am now no longer able to test DISAs. That and I have a 2FA3 error (though from what I read that happens when you reprogram DME). Car seems to run fine, but the DISA test failure makes me wonder since it was working just before the flash.

False start. Something must have been up with the laptop connection. DISA test seems to work fine now.

I just found some instructions back on page 83 and I'll try and remove the 002FA3 code.

I'd recommend resetting adaptations after the 3IM swap as the car pulled so much harder once I had done that. Give the car a chance to breathe the new air! Mahalo again to hassmachine/rjahl/Terra and all the bimmerlabs folks who contributed to the community and flash. Debating trying the MAF-less flash to see if there are more butt gains.

Hi Guys, i have just bought my 1st e90. Have had quite a few e46 and e39s before. My new car is a 323i Japan spec. I am new to the forum so please forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong place. I have just changed my manifold from 2 stage to 3 stage and was wanting to flash a 325i tune into my car. I've found a file on Bimmerlabs site but it says it is a stock tune. Does anybody know if this is actually "stock" or has it been modified to suit the 3 stage manifold?? I tried to look for more info on what it actually is but maybe i missed something? If someone could explain how it works that would be great. Thanks.

Did you create a custom project and then say you want to go from a 325 to 330 3stage intake manifold? It will say something like '"There are three standard files for your project '[Whatever you named your project here]" and one of them will probably say "325_to_330i.0da" in it. Dunno if there was anything different about the Japan spec that might delay the effort.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes i created a new project but there is only 1 standard file available and i can't see where it says what it is. It just gives a ZB HW and software id number when i click on "detail"

Click the + button to the right of the file for a description.

Attached is what my project looked like (328i to 330i 3-stage conversion)

Thanks for that. I see the issue now. Mine only shows the RSA delete file in standard files which must mean there is nothing available for my N52B25 engine. i read on here of a guy with a 523i flashing to 525i so maybe it is possible? Does anybody know how i could find out?

Just put the request in and they will get to you. It's only a few folks putting in spare time, so be patient. Sometimes they come into the thread here and get to your item sooner if they can. Who knows, maybe they need to do some research or need to do something custom since yours is a JDM version.

I put in a request. So now i wait patiently. I also did a bit of research. My 323i has a pitiful 177hp, the n52b25 in the 325i has 218hp. According to ETK, everything is the same, (exhaust manifold and system, camshafts etc) The only difference seems to be my car only has a 2 stage intake manifold but the 325i has the 3 stage. A 41hp gain would pretty damn good if possible. I wouldn't mind at all if i had to pay them for it!

Hey fellas, i did the 330 conversion successfully, but me car now throws a fault code which suggesting the DME has lost communication with my transmission.

Hass said I have to get my car software updated to a newer version as it is like 1.0 before applying the 330 flash again.

To do this i need to flash back to stock and get that code out of my car or bmw won't touch it. Upon running the stock flash I'm getting the following errors

Cable, computer and car are all the same as when i did the 330 flash, but the stock flash is not happy.
