it's been so dead lately... what is up guys? all getting ready into winter mode already?
just picked up a go pro, got my V1 stealth installed. now my friend wants to find a time so he can do a friendly run with me in his 2009 E63 AMG. good timing i'll have my go pro ready and we will once go to mexico and do a short run. watch the best moment when i start leashing him. @vince @blisstik wanna join us in Mexico? so all us E40/50 protuned can show the AMG what we little 6 cylinder 3.0 can do =)

Does anyone know how the HPFP prime works? I don't always get the sound, does that mean its acting up? I feel my car starts better when i hear it.

I walnut blasted my intake valves the other day. I couldn't believe eyes with the amount of build up on them. The car has 67k miles on it and looks like it was Never cleaned! I bought it with 45k and didn't even realize intake valve cleaning was a requirement till 64k (aug) when i looked into modding the car. Once i learned about it i found the cost and was like. "Oh, hell no I'll do that myself!"
So i bought everything needed ($200 in products excluding air compressor) and saved a ton. I actually bought a 60 gallon air compressor and only spent a little more than it would have costed to have the dealer do it. So i got some free tools out of it instead of paying the dealer lol. Anyways, here are the before pictures. I got so caught up in the cleaning that i forgot to take after pictures, but i did take one right after the first cyl cleaning. Since the bmw tool slips into the slot you end up with a non cleaned ring around the tip. I just sprayed intake cleaner on it and inside the valve chambers then used used paper towels to clean the ring off. Then to get the rest of the cleaner out i stuck a paper towl in the hole and made a small hole in the paper towl and used compress air to blow it out and the paper towl observed it all. If you haven't ever cleaned your valves I highly suggest doing so! My car feels so much better and sounds louder. Now i just need to get rid of that stupid misfire code 29CD that now seems to be the injector since i replaced the spark plus, coils and did cleaned the valves only thing left is the injector. Here are the pictures. Photos are in order from Cyl 1, Cyl 2, Cyl 3, Cyl 4, Cyl 5, Cyl 6 then Cyl 1 90% cleaned after blasting.

if that's the case, it's the LPFP prime. it primes around the gas tank area. which i believe it has a sensor to sense the pressure. if it has enough pressure to start, it won't prime ie, you open your door to get something after parked for like an hour. it will prime once. but then within certain time, it wouldn't prime again even you lock/unlock, open the door. that's how i observe it. both my e90 and e70 does the same thing.

yea i wouldn't worry much. i get that once awhile. but morning start still fine and specially now in the much cooler weather. E40 in the tank doesn't make a hiccup on cold start when i get off work 10pm at night after a whole day parked in the parking lot.

The thread says every 1st and 3rd wed of the month... My assumption is that its next week? I didn't see any bumps in the thread either... I was hoping to make the next meet, but I had a miss fire issue that bothered me. Replaced coils, plugs, fuel pump, and I even did intake valve cleaning myself. After all the main stuff the misfire was still in cyl 1 so i said screw it, and took it in, got a loaner and got a call today that they are replacing my spark plugs and injectors under the California emissions warranty. I'm also getting the battery recall done so thats a plus. Hopefully i'll get it back by tomorrow.

I read online (this forum) that the new injectors that came out (this year I believe) are much better than the previous ones and they only sell the new ones so if you have one injector go bad you normally get all six if they don't have old stock of them. The car runs so much better I can't actually believe the difference. New plugs, coils, injectors and clean valves it's like driving a semi new engine lol. Going to run e85 again later today.
