Possible to activate cruise control set speed in display? - Yes it can be done!
I have just started coding my '06 E90 and was wondering if it is possible to code the set speed display for the cruise control to come up in the info. display when you activate it. I don't have the active cruise control but I know this is possible as I have driven a 2010 LCI without ACC that would display the set speed.
Thanks in advance for any assistance provided and hello to all who read from down under. Last edited by Moonstone; 03-30-2011 at 05:19 PM.. Reason: Indicate that issue has been resolved. |

Mine flashes on for a second when I set it, but it doesn't stay up the whole time? Is this what you are talking about?

No nothing on mine, that is what the LCI I drove did. It is really annoying not having any indication the cruise control has engaged. Cruise control works OK though. I asked my dealer if this was a fault with mine but was told only on the LCI's did it display the set speed for a second or so.

Good idea Toad335. Here is a copy of my TRC file if anyone more knowledgable than myself is interested in comparing. Thanks again.

I have a 325XI 2006 and I can see the speed in the cluster for 1-2 sec.
I tried to compare my KOMBI with yours but there is too much differences. Quote:

Thanks for that Woodpecka. I wanted to get hold of an '06 KOMBI file so I could compare myself, much appreciated.

I did a quick comparison in excel between woodpecka's and my KOMBI files. I haven't had a chance to look over it closely but hopefully will be able to pick up the necessary changes I need to enable the cruise control set speed display.

The one that stands out most to me is TEMPOMAT_SETZ_ANZ_DAUER, which translates to CRUISE CONTROL SET TIME. I've also seen dauer translate to delay, so I'm thinking this might be the length of time that is shows on the display.
Mine is set to wert_02, yours is wert_01. Others are TCM_ALIVE_MONITOR (yours nicht_aktiv, mine aktiv) and TCM_ID_MONITOR (yours nicht_aktiv, mine aktiv). Try TEMPOMAT_SETZ_ANZ_DAUER and let me know if that works. |

It works! I changed the following-
BC_2_ENABLE changed to aktiv BC_LIMIT_ENABLE changed to aktiv TEMPOMAT_SETZ_ANZ_DAUER changed to wert_2 I'm not sure if all three need to be changed, but comparing to woodpecka's file mine were different so decided to change then to see what changes there would be. When I have some more time I might try and isolate which one was required, probably as Toad335 suggested the TEMPOMAT_SETZ_ANZ_DAUER value. Thanks to you both for your help. Now to see if I can get the Welcome lights to work, the car is a May '06 so I think I might be in trouble as the FRM module might not be capable.

Hi everyone,
I will try to resurrect this post in 2019 I have retrofited Cruise Control in my 2005 e90 320d. One guy coded that feature to VO and now CC works as expected, but without any indication. My car has "low cluster". With NCS expert i tryied to change TEMPOMAT_SETZ_ANZ_DAUER value to wert_2 in kombi but without result. Is it even possible to add this feature to KOMBI for such an old car? What this ACC_AUSSTATTUNG do? It has 4 values from wert_01 to wert_04. Maybe i need to code other models as well (as i mentioned above CC works)? |

on four cylinder cars you can only have one-time CC speed display when CC initiated or changed
six cylinder cars have cc speed indicator around speedometer

Try setting the value to wert_02 instead of 2.

Didn't work with me.. value is there in my trc file when I read it back, but nothing in display when activating the cruise control. ☹
I guess it's because I have a 'low Kombi' / instrument cluster which doesn't display this function. 😕 Last edited by P14kle; 02-19-2019 at 02:05 PM.. |
