Do you know if I will have trouble putting a 2006 3sim on a 2007 328xi?

As long as you follow the thread and how the manifold was modified to sit flush, should have zero issues.

I don't have any tune yet but I'm getting a manifold off a 06 330i for $100 so it seemed stupid to pass on.. I'm not sure if I'm just going to flash base 330 software instead of a tune for less CELs..

get active auto catless headers and get a tune from Stage FP.

the car will completely be transformed.

Back on this topic (some what) I'm ready to buy the Stage FP tune. 3sim will be installed this weekend. My question is, i want the stage fp tune for 3sim and secondary cat delete. BUT I haven't been able to find a shop on my area that will do cat deletes since its "illegal". Should I just go ahead and get the tune for 3sim and cat delete and hope I can find a place that will do it eventually. I dont want to have to send it back for a re tune.

That's a question you should ask Bob, but I'm pretty sure he's not going to build a special tune for a secondary cat delete.

All the tune will do is delete error codes. You could install it and have no issues if you still have cats.

A good tune will not cause any problems at all.

Motor is solid, but there are a few tuners that have no idea and push the timing too far.

I had 205,000 miles on mine when I traded in. Started turning at 135k or so.
How many miles did u sell your car with wow?

Would you have error codes for deleting secondary cats? I thought they were after the downstream 02 sensors, so there's nothing to measure a differences in oxygen presence there anyways

Edit: or do you mean if you still have primary cats

Deleting secondary cats will not throw codes. There are no sensors associated with them.

I have been running "headers" tune for over 2 years now with stock cats.

How does the Stage FP tune work? Do I send them my DME, they tune it and send it back? Do they send me a tuned DME? I bought it yesterday but haven't heard anything back.

From their website, it seems like they ship you a USB dongle with your specific tune on it as well as a USB-OBD cable. You will have to supply a Windows 7/10 machine with which to download software to flash with.

Instructions from Stage FP

Yeah they just emailed me back about. Kind of annoying though. The only lap top we have is my GFs Mac. Maybe I can sneak my work lap top out for a weekend. I wish it was more like the AA tune where you send then you're DME, they tune it and send it back. Also, my garage isn't connected to my house and the wi fi dosent reach that far.

They can do bench flash. You can still mail them your ECU and they will flash it for you. That is how Stage flashes some F cars.

You can also install parallels or even a full blown windows on your mac (i have done it many many times). You don't need windows license to do so.
Here are Apple instructions on how to do so.

I fully support Bob and would live to give him more business, but unless you will be doing MILVS, you should look into AA tune. AA feels very comparable to Bob's.

It seems like Bobs tune is the most comprehensive in terms of mod supporting, so probably the way I will end up going

One question I have is will a tune from Stage incorporate 3IM into a non 3IM motor? For example I have one in preparing to install, but would forego installing INPA and a 330 base tune if a Stage flash would do the same thing plus support additional mods.

I heard that MILVS will be available again shortly too...

Yes, his tune supports 3IM. Heck, that is bread and butter of every tuner.

Here are combos of tunes BPC offered before (I believe Bob still offers):
stock manifold
3IM
N54 manifold
stock manifold + headers
3IM +headers
N54 manifold + headers
stock manifold + MILVS
3IM + MILVS
N54 manifold + MILVS
stock manifold + headers + MILVS
3IM +headers + MILVS <- I am currently running this one without headers installed
N54 manifold + headers +MLVS
Burble tune for all above variations

So, got the 3SIM installed and did the Stage FP tune on Wednesday. So far so good, much for low end torque and seems to continue to pull past 5K where as it use to kinda just fall short. My one and only recommendation to Stage FP would be better communication. Other than that this tune feels great. Ive only got about 25miles on the car so far and from what I've read some adaptions need to take place to feel the full effect.

Which tune did you end up going with?

I'm kind of interested in the burble options but am also not 16 anymore
