Star Spoke 189 wheels...keep them, or go aftermarket?
I picked up a used 07' 335i a while ago. It needs a little TLC......but overall it's in good shape.
The previous owners did a horrible rattle can paint job on the factory BMW 18" "star spoke 189" wheels that it's got on it. I'm going back and forth trying to decide if I should have the wheels sand blasted...and then powdercoated black.....or just sell them, and spend the $1,000+ on a nice set of aftermarket wheels. What's your thoughts on these BMW 189 style wheels? |

189s are probably the nicest non-M wheels for this generation, and it looks like you have some decent Michelin PSS strapped to them.
You won't get more than $700-800 for the wheels + tires unfortunately. If you don't want to keep them then I would buy a set of 18" and then transfer the tires over to those, and sell the 189s as is for whatever you can get, most likely $400-500.

I have 235/35/19 and 255/35/19 tires at the moment on my 8" & 9" wheels, but I plan to upgrade these to 9" & 10" and go with 235/35/19 and 265/35/19. I like the look of having a larger sidewall/wheel diameter in back.

I would change them back to their original color, I would also wrap the trim black. If you want a change, I’d find a style 225 or other M Sport wheels. Is the bumper broke on the bottom? I would address that before doing anything else.
