335D Regular Maintenance Prices and Locations

I recently purchased a 2011 335D and I plan to do some regular maintenance on the vehicle since it's quickly approaching 60K miles and some of the things I would rather be safe than sorry with. I decided to spend this morning researching the best places to purchase these items from since I don't have a shop or dealer to order them through. I figured since I'm spending the time doing this for my self, I might as well share it with everyone here too. As you'll see, I pretty much left engine oil out of the chart because I plan to use Rotella T6 and I already have a jug of it in the garage. But if anyone sees anything wrong, or thinks I should add some different items that I might be missing please let me know, because this is pretty much everything I'll be ordering here in the next couple of days.

Late addition from thectsc.com
Full transmission service kit (Includes pan, fluid, plug, 5 screws and mechatronics sleeve. all zf brand) $258.19

Thank you very much for sharing...very helpful! On a side note, you'll need two jugs of the T6 to complete the OC. There is still a valid $5/gallon rebate and just got my $20 check. Purchased 4 gallons from amazon at something like $16/gal on a flash sale. I see there price is back up to $26+/gal. Home depot or tractor supply might have best price on T6.

Wow this is fantastic, and extremely helpful! Thank you so much for sharing!

Note, you'll need either a tool to run the fuel pump when you change the filter, or you'll need to plug the pump into a power source. There are a few threads on that. I never understood the price discrepancy on the fuel filter. I got one through my local dealership for $55.

Also, I order OEM Oil from my local dealership for $7 a quart. Just in case anyone reading through here is able to order through a dealer, it may be cheaper that way. I was shocked to find out I can get oil cheaper from the dealer than anywhere else.

Don't forget you need to add DEF every once in awhile.

So I did a quick search for this, because you're completely right that I need more haha I have what's left from doing my last TDi oil change. Anyways, walmart and amazon have it for the same price at $58.50 for 2.5 gallons, which equates to $5.85 a quart.

As for DEF... I'm hoping I will no longer need this by the time it's time to refill...

If you want to go crazy you can include www.thectsc.com -- they have great prices on ZF trans kits.

Damn! Wish I had seen their kits before I ordered everything. I probably would have gone with them.

Nice. I ordered everything from FCP Euro last week, I probably would have ordered elsewhere had I seen this haha. All good, no worries. Regardless, anything is better than getting straight from the dealer!

Did I read that right? $220.80 for a fuel filter from ECS tuning. Does it come with 30k miles worth of road head?

Fuel filter prices seem to vary ridiculously. I can't figure out why either. I noticed it back when I bought mine. Had a gift card to the dealership, so I just shelled out the $60.

rockauto.com almost always has the best prices on standard parts like oil filters, air filters, fuel filters, etc. For instance, the MANN oil filter is listed there at $13.94. They also carry the wix 57560 which is at least as good as the mann filter and a tad cheaper.

Can this thread get stickied? I was told that most of the other threads that got a sticky request don't get it because the thread usually involves tuning, but this seems clear, and is a perfect resource.

I went to my dealership yesterday to get a quote on an oil change kit and was told "$77 plus tax". So all in, about $85. That is for all OEM stuff, and is cheaper than anywhere else that I have found so far. You could order the cheapest kit from idParts and it'd still be $74, and you wouldn't get the kit for 3 days. It's funny how sometimes the dealership is the best choice. But never for actual work. Only parts.

That's pretty impressive, but going with the fantastic Rotella T6 is still the best deal
