What is everyone paying for this BRR tune? The prices seem to be some kind of secret.
I'd be interested to try it out vs my current JR 2.8 car if the price is reasonable

I'm a little confused, aren't you Owain Jones? Malone's tuner?

Silence... we have yet to hear from Malone's tuner as to why he wants to "try" BRR's tune.

Just started running the new tune update and love it. The acceleration feels smoother and it pulls harder. Also not sure if it's in my head but it feels like the initial punch hits harder in lower rpm and it pulls through the lower rpm harder . Can't wait to really push the limits when I get new coilovers installed in a couple weeks with all the m3 suspension components!

In line with what my old JR2.8 car made. Very nice.

I don't think Owen81 is the Owain y'all are thinking of. I could be mistaken but going through his posts, doesn't look like it.

Definitely Owain from Malone. Strange he’s not responding though. It’s ok to have healthy competition between tuners. Tunes get better and cheaper. Everyone wins.

He is not going to respond because he knows he got busted...

Haha, Yeah...I have no clue if it's even Owain. Even if it was, seems like there are a lot of secrets in the tuning world!

FWIW...really glad BRR is out there. Competition is good!

Oh.. it is him.. confirmed by multiple sources. Hell.. the fact that Mr Owen81 isn't replying to deny it is enough to confirm.

I sure am glad BRR is out there setting the bar high and giving all the other mainstream tuners a run for their money.. it can only get better with time and like Yozh said, the more competition we have the cheaper it becomes for everyone. I remember back 2-3 years ago the only options we had cost $1500+ for a damn off the shelf tune, now BRR can get you a real custom tune that actually maxes out your car's setup for less than half.

I have only spoken with Ryan from BRR but it didn't take too long for me to realize that these guys know the DME probably better than anyone else. Mapping engines is a huge part of my job at work and there are dozens of people just like me who can fine tune a calibration for the most power while maintaining the safety limits (egts, cylinder pressure, rail pressure, turbine speed) but we're the manufacturer and when a particular calibration gives me an issue such as an upper limit or PID tweak for the fuel pump controller it's usually one call to the controls team, half a day later and we're back to business. Aftermarket tuners have to crack the coding and get to the core functionality of the calibration to make the most of it. Big kudos to BRR for putting in the work and I'm so glad to hear everyone loving their tunes. I just bought my 335d a few weeks ago but next weekend I will be shipping my DME off to BRR for my tune and my downpipe n racepipe have already arrived. Really looking forward to the finished product!

My has been at a disclosed location and had a stage 3 Bpc tune. Thinking I had the good shit but I was shown with my eyes what I actually got. It it was not worth the $1200 I spent at Bpc. The wool was pulled from my eyes. And I race my car on street and at the track and I will give an update when I get it back...

Glad you clarified it for us! it's just a lot of coincidence that in the past couple of weeks the actual Malone tuner reached out to several people running BRRs tune asking for details.

If it was really him, don't you think he would buy the tune privately as another person? Hehe. Also why would he say that he has jr tune, lol.

Owen, if you already spent the money on JR 2.8, just keep it. They all make similar power for the same kind of tunes.
To spend another 600+ for another tune after having spent 1000+ for JR is counterproductive, even if it's an extra few horses.
I don't know if BRR offers special pricing for those who have existing tunes.

On the other hand, if it was a buggy tune that had bad support, I would consider BRR. cough...bp* cough... mission tuning cough cough, need a cough drop

I see what your point is but with the JR2.8 tune you don't get the rinse and repeat to fine tune your setup. Also BRR will support hyrbids, nitrous, and water/meth injection for life with his tunes. So while spending an additional 650 for a fine tuning of the car vs the JR2.8 tune may not be worth the 650 to some people, What you are getting is much more than that if you ever change your setup and want more power.
