A heads up on 19" 225's
I have heard from a reliable source who works for bmw that they will not manufacture 225's anymore due to the cracking issue!
I wonder if they will let you spec 230's on M Sports then?

Don't 230's have the same issue?

There might be. That might just be potholes, or just a coincedence. bmw have FULL figures on this and have decided to stop making 225's.
If i found out more i will post up.

I have a friend who works in a BMW dealer and he backs this up.
225's discontinued. He says that at the moment there is no 19" option on M Sport, just the standard 18" that have always been available. There was a Highline model which had the 19's as one of the standard features. This has apparently now been discontinued. He says this might change with the LCI changes that are due. |

Carl, we discussed this in the cracked wheel thread a month ago 'cos 'Tomgrey' was offered the performace rims as a substitute to the 19's on an M sport highline model he was buying.
Dealers were told to stop taking orders for them at the start of November. Some orders in the system are being fulfilled but no car after xmas will be delivered with those wheels fitted. |

I think the 18" MV3's on E90 M-Sports look great, but somehow they look too small on the coupes?...
It's a real pity they're dropping them as the 225's look amazing. You'd think they'd be able to just manufacture a strengthened version.

They should give people who currently have the 225s a choice to swap them for the 230s or other BMW OEM wheel set FOC, perhaps to keep things fair nothing from the performance line. Or having said that, they cocked up in the first place so offer a choice of any BMW OEM that fits!! Now that would go miles to repairing their poor customer service rep!! |

Thats crazy news.
Maybe they will go up in value on the 2nd hand market now - lol What about the 19" performance alloys - are they still selling those?

They may do, not to the extent of 225's though.

shit, have to look as well. Am a bit worried about this... they cost a lot, and if mine crack they will probably blame it on my KW suspension...
too bad for the wheel, as IMO it is one of the most beautiful ones. |

Anyone know if the 19" performance wheels are still being made/sold?
They are my favourite easily.

225's no longer listed as an option on the normal M-sport in the configurator. Looks like they're the last of the line - pity as they do look so good...
...although I am waiting for the latest set to crack, at which point a rocket will go up over the big city......followed by a rocket up the dealers proverbial..... |
