I've always dreamed of having an M car one day, and last Tuesday that dream came true! I decided to trade in my 2019 Chevrolet Blazer RS AWD for a 2017 BSM F80 M3 DCT non-ZCP executive with 24k miles. 5 Days have gone by and I am enjoying every minute of the car. The power delivery is smooth, robust and planted. I love the programmable M1 and M2 settings in which I find myself driving it every time in the, "sport" modes all around and utilizing the DCT. I did purchase the extended warranty since it expires in late October and I believe I was presented with a good deal. I must say, I feel lucky to have both the 335is and the M3 since they're enjoyable in distinctive ways. Anyways, I am excited with this platform and hope to learn more through the process!
Gorgeous fleet of vehicles you have.

Rear Bushing Inserts from ECS

Hi All,

I replaced my front control arms with M3 control arms and that helped the front end. Now I really notice how loose the rear feels especially when accelerating on a bumpy road (rear hops). I ordered this kit from ECS. I may just need to replace the bushings all together but this is worth a shot. Anyone else do this?

BTW, I purchased the MHD Tuner and went with Stage 1+ for now. I purchased a Cobb charge pipe which fit easy, I also put on 4" ECS exhaust tips (my black tips looked bad). This extra boost is making the rear hop even more noticeable.

Video of my son driving after I put on the charge pipe.

Cheers!

Phil

Nice!!!

One thing that I added that help calm the rear end down was adjustable rear toe arms, not nearly as squirrelly as it was.
I will replace my rear subframe bushings when I do the LSD and rear sway bar. But the Rear Arms are not hard at all to replace, easy DYI

Are the rear M3 control arms worth getting for the 335is?

I have replaced the front and rear arms with the M3 control arms. I have also added a BMS diff brace and the Whiteline rear sub frame inserts. The car is feels great in the corners and the back end is definitely a lot less squirrely. If your doing the fronts, I would do the backs as well. A little late, but hopefully that helps.

I ordered the Bilstein B12 cup kit, M3 front lower control arms, and the 034Motorsport rear subframe inserts. I haven't bought the M3 rear control arms yet because I was waiting for someone to chime in, but thank you ill look more into the BMS diff brace.

I use a Vwetish diff brace but I can tell you it is well worth it no matter what one you go with.

I ordered these as well. I'm going to tackle them with the Bilstein B12 cup kit, m3 front lower control arms, and these rear subframe inserts. Hopefully the car feels more planted and responsive!

Question for the Group of IS Folks:

I have a stock steering wheel with paddles (DCT). I love the paddles but want to go with Alcantara. Does anyone have a good source for said alcantara steering wheel with paddles? Is the gent from Ukraine on eBay the only source

Thanks in advance for insight.

Cheers,

Phil

Anyone else have rusted rotors? I would have thought OEM would be anti-rust. Should I replace with OEM or aftermarket?

Just googled it...very impressive. You can customize any steering wheel you want! I am going with Alcantara with big silver paddles, M stiching and thats it. Simple, clean is my style . Thanks for the heads up!
