COBB or VRSF DownPipe dilemma

Looking for a catted downpipe.

I know this topic is like a hammered nail. But I'm doing so much forum and web searching that I'm going cross eyed.

Currently: my daily is an e92 335i '11. Running COBB AP (stage 1+) with FTP chargepipe. Plans to do the performance exhaust mod, XHP transmission tune, and eventually MHD.

If I did the DP I probably would not (or hold off) doing the PE exhaust mod for the sake of the neighborhood. That's just me. But I am wanting to go the stage 2 and DPs are one of the keys. Trying to avoid CELs as its my baby.

I believe they are both 200 cell cats. Correct? Cost difference is substantial between the two.

Should I broaden my scope?

Thoughts????

You should dump the Cobb tune and get MHD. The MHD tune can hide the CEL and help pass emissions. The Cobb tune has been obsolete years. Then skip the catted dp and go catless (VRSF). Not sure why anyone would buy catted at this point since it makes less power than catless and the cats fail eventually anyways.

+1 for MHD and XHP. Well worth the money.

I'd stick with MHD on this platform as well.

I personally prefer to support vendors who continue to support the platform. Unfortunately Cobb abandoned this platform over half a decade ago.

Thank you

I am in the process of switching. I ordered the iOS WiFi compatible receiver.

Once I get that, I'll do the MHD and xHP tune. Sell my Cobb

Still on the fence regarding the HF or catless DP. Only for suburban sound reasons. There are a few focus Sports that roll around here. I do admit to eye rolls.

Plans for HFDP and PE exhaust mod with MHD and xHP.

If only I knew COBB stopped supporting N54 before I forked out 800 bux for a V3 a few years ago.
OP, I went with VRSF catless DP v2. Fitment was great and no issues.

I've been the catless route. Cold start up is LOUD with stock echaust, otherwise it's not bad. Could always disable cold start up in MHD, but sometimes it won't like to idle at first that way. MOST importantly though, and this is just my experience, but unless I had the air on recirculating and the windows up I would get headaches and nausea. You will be breathing in carbon monoxide after all. Not ideal for getting things out of the trunk while it's running or if you have loved ones who'll be around the idling car. My 6 year old said "your car smells like hot dogs and toots!" The difference in power between catless and high flow catted is about 10-15 hp, and that's not worth it to me. Just my 2 cents. I've actually got a catted VRSF on order now.

I was never able to find pics of the cat in the VRSF, so here's mine.
