2019-1 BMW Map Update Torrent Files

Was looking to update my maps today and had to waste a bunch of time messing around with mega.nz and trying to find the torrent so I decided to spend a little more time and compile as many of the downloads (in torrent form) so other people could save some time.

The attached file has torrent download files for the following map versions:

Road Map North America PREMIUM 2019
Europe Move 2018-2
Road Map Europe East MOTION 2019-1
Road Map Europe East PREMIUM USB 2019-1
Road Map Europe Next 2019-1
Road Map Europe West MOTION 2019-1
Road Map Europe West PREMIUM USB 2019-1
Road Map North America MOVE 2019
Road Map North America NEXT 2019-1
Attached Files
File Type: zip 2019 Maps.zip (298.9 KB, 7445 views)

If as I am hearing BMW stops with updates for the e90 North America Premium, can anyone think of a way to adapt future maps to allow them to be loaded? I currently have 2019 Premium but already some poi’s are out of date.

I hope not. The last BMW to come with a CIC was in 2015.

Size of USB

I can't get the torrent file to run through my USB in my glove compartment.

Anyone have an idea what I am doing wrong?

Is there a step by step process, or should it automatically start downloading?

I have a 8 GB USB I am using for the small torrent file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The torrent file is just essentially like a link to a bit torrent download.

You'll need a client like Webtorrent, or qBittorrent to download the actual files. Download and install either of them, and then just drag the .torrent file into it.

Depending on your internet, the ~20gb of map files could take anywhere from a few hours, to a few days to download.

After they're downloaded, use WinRAR to extract them (if it's multiple files labelled "part1", "part2", etc - you need to select them all at once, right click and extract here). After its extracted, you'll be left with a folder, with a folder and a file inside of it. Place the folder and file that are inside of the folder, into the root of a FAT32 formatted 32gb USB stick.

Then place in your glove compartment USB and turn the Nav on. It should prompt you to update within a minute, likely closer to 20 seconds.

Just another quick question... looks like the download is in 5 parts.

with that being said, tomorrow once this finally finishes downloading.
Do I need to put each part after extraction on a different USB? or can i keep it all together when I go to plug it in after I do the WinRAR and select it all?

Re-read my previous post.

They're all one set of files, but WinRAR splits them into multiple parts (5 in this case), to keep the file size down.

When they're done, just select all 5, right click, and click "WinRAR - Extract Here". This will have them all extract as one set.

ok. Well the download itself right now shows 5 parts.

part1.rar
part2.rar
part3.rar
part4.rar
part5.rar

So I believe that it's already split up in 5 parts from Webtorrent. I dragged 1 file over to it and it shows 5.

That's why I'm confused. About 1 part being split to 5 from the Winrar. lol

The torrent file is essentially like a link or URL to download something. Once the download starts (via the torrent client Webtorrent), it can contain any number of various files and formats.

The reason people use Torrents, is because it acts as a peer to peer download solution, where you don't have to pay for expensive servers to share these big files.

The original uploader creates a the torrent file (which is like a link), to link to and allow the download of a set of files/folders they specify. Then, when someone else (say me), downloads these files, I become another host for the files - meaning the next person to download them would be receiving files from both the original uploader and me.

The more people that download it, and then seed it (seeding is to allow other people to download from you), the faster the download is, as there is more people to download from.

It sounds complicated, but the torrent client (Webtorrent), handles all of this in the background. Once you're done downloading, I'd hope that you would leave the client open for at least a day or two to help other people download the files (as you'd be seeding it).

Let me know if you have any other questions. I'd also recommend watching some videos on "What a torrent is", as they might be better suited to explain it than me.

Do not have the patience lol

This is insane! lol

Maybe its because I am downloading the 2019 maps and not the 2018.

Is there not a way for people to just share the 2 files that need to go onto the USB to plug into your car instead of downloading for days if not weeks?

I am even willing to pay a couple dollars to not have to wait.

You need to expand those RAR files. Use something like WinRAR.

I'm downloading the 2019-1 Premium now for my 2011 E70 X5M (that I've NEVER updated the maps on)!! Thanks a ton for the torrent links. Looks like I have about 9 hrs of time to kill

Any one know if I need an FSC code to install these on an E70? Or will they just update fine when I stick the USB stick in the glove box?

You ALWAYS need a FSC unless a previous owner used a lifetime FSC

Did they discontinue the DVD update method? I did 2018 that way.

Wait until the 3 USB method and then burn the files to DVD.

Thanks for compiling this.

Does anyone know the difference between the Premium, Move, and Next versions?

I know I use premium but I'm just curious what the difference between all of them is.

They are the updated/newer I drive systems in the newest gens. We can only use Premium since that's what E9x's came with, unless you have retrofitted a newer system.
