Vacuum Pump part needed

Hey all.
Was removing my vacuum pump in order to change the notorious leaking gasket, and I of course dropped one of the sliders that fits on the end of the vane inside. It then dropped down into the dimension where only important bolts and 10mm sockets are known to go. spent about an hour searching every nook and cranny to no effect.
Have been scouring the interwebs and it seems there is no rebuild kit, or any pumps on ebay for cheap, unless i order from lithuania, and wait 8-45 weeks for shipping.

Any chance one of you has a broken pump, or a used one for cheeppp that I could buy so I can get that one little bugger of a part and close this "10 minute" project up?

Thanks...

It's there somewhere. There are lots of flat-enough spots that would catch that part long before it reaches the ground. Check around all the pulleys, check around the turbos, check the engine mount arms. Prod around with a magnetic pick up tool. Spray the bay with a power washer if you have one, be mindful of the alternator and electrical connectors. I would pull the underbody covers off, you can reach another dimension searching from beneath the car. Then pull the fan. Subframe if you're mechanically inclined and have a weekend to spare.

I see pumps on ebay for $150-200.

If the two end pieces are the same (I can check when I'm home) you could potentially have a machine shop try to duplicate it.

As of about 3 months ago, there was a M57 at local JY that had hydrolocked. Big hole in side of block. Not sure it's still there but try A+ Auto in Pasadena, Texas. I would sort of be intimidated on taking it off and ensuring you get your needed part(s).
