I just bought an 07 e90 n54 on 18’s with stock shocks and lowering springs....need affordable options for shocks? It’s low low and I dig it just looking for more ride comfort, not looking to throw down on full coilover set. TIA

I've always read that adding lowering springs to stock shocks will cause early failure of the shocks, this is why companies offer matched shock and spring packages. I cannot imagine that car is comfortable driving and I own an E92.

The car at that ride height has zero suspension travel. That's why it's riding rough. Your options here would be to raise the car or shorter shocks, which would mean coilovers with adjustable bodies. There are no standard style shocks that are going to help at that height.

I figured. Any suggestions on aftermarket shocks? Or affordable coilovers? I just dropped some �� �� �� on index 12’s....ouchhh

I’ve heard this too. What’s your set up on your e92?

I don’t think we have too many options if you just want to keep those springs and upgrade the shocks. It’s either Bilstein B8 or Koni Sport Yellows. Koni has a sale right now until the end of the month I believe. I’d get on that if I were you. Good shocks are essential to a compliant ride, especially being lowered.

Alternatively, if you want height adjustability and a comfy street ride, KW V1 (if you’re in winter states that see snow often) or ST X coilovers (same shocks & springs but galvanized steel shock bodies). Next step up with better shocks and front camber plates included are ST XTA. I previously had the XTA set and no complaints at all. Really good value for height, rebound, and easy front camber adjustability. Their included camber plates don’t introduce noise either. Front comes preassembled too.

I am seeing more people go with Solo Werks S1 coils for super budget option but iono... I’d learn to a proven shock like Bilstein or Koni at that price point. But that’s just me.

Koni yellows or bilstein sport are the best options outside of spending crazy money but at that height, nothing is going to help. The issue is that you have no travel left.
