Cooling Fan running when cold!

Hello guys

For about a month I have been experiencing the following fault in my 2006 BMW 325 N52.
On first morning start being cold (52 F) the fan kicks in at full speed. When I arrive to work (20 Min drive) I turn off the car and a couple of hours later when I drive back home it starts without the fan, normally.

Other mornings everything works fine, no cooling fan when cold.
I have scanned the car and I got two DTC in the ECM:

2E84 - Message, Electric coolant pump: Missing
2E85 - Message, Electric Coolant pump: Missing

Car is now at 67K miles and I suspect it might be the original water pump.
Would you consider anything else apart from the water pump going out?

Thanks all!

your water pump is dying or dead.

Pump dying 100%.

I had these codes for about a year, and tried quite a few things before just going all-in and changing out the pump and thermostat. Codes gone, car running like new again. Great diy on here to follow, quite simple procedure, albeit a bit fiddly...

I was gonna suggest you probably had your ac on from the last time you were in the car but nah, replace that water pump ASAP. You don't wanna be left on the side of the road.

Run inpa, ista or bimmergeeks app and try to activate the pump from the software. Or just do a bleed procedure. You could have pump communications failing.
