I don't want to hijack to much off topic but guys ppl that drive in snow do you rust proof your car? I told myself no need as it has plastic bumpers and steel galvanized parts but everytime I read more on the subject people freak out still and then that makes me freak out.

So do you drive bare or get coated with something?

Early on, the snow wasn't too bad. Later in the trip, it got much worse.

And those are my summer performance tires, since I wasn't expecting snow. Not recommended!

With Blizzaks, the 335i isn't bad at all, until the depth of the snow exceeds the ground clearance of the car.

PS: The whole report of this trip is available at On the Roof of the World: West Virginia by BMW.

I rustproof mine each year before winter for peace of mind since I want to keep it in the best shape as possible for a long time. Simple undercarriage spray in a specialized shop, not touching the engine bay (no mess), neither drilling the doors jambs.

Thanks. I ended up buying a can of anti rust spray and will probably give a spray once it starts thawing.

I had to go to get parts to fix the sno thrower.
because it had been sitting for years.
because I hadn't had 14" of snow in a while.
