had the same error today with dcan cable (usually that cable was ok - i mean it works with inpa, istad, ista p without errors). Flash with winkfp it worked only using icom interface (tried couple of times with dcan but no luck).

You might want to use Spotlight RichCopy to manually copy files over.

In part (1) where it says "Enter VIN" please make sure you type your FULL VIN. It might be obvious to everyone else in the world but it wasn't obvious for me. I was about to type my last 7 digits from habit then after a second thought I realized I was about to screw things up.

Part (2) is just the short version. For a more complete step by step guide you can follow this PDF. Make sure you pick the right module (EGS).

EDIT: apparently I can't post links to other forums. so for the last PDF you are looking for something called "NCS Expertmode coding DIY" which contains "DIY : Coding factory setting for any ECU using NCS" in the first line. Google for it.

Hello guys ! I have a 2010 E90 335i. Done the flash and everything is great except the paddle shifters aren't working. As I see I can only use 48.1 and 49.3 SpDatens, but I can't find them anywhere. Can I use newer SpDaten to fix the paddle shifters or can someone give me the link to the mentioned spdatens ? Thanks !

Go to bimmergeeks website and download the v60 Datens. You can use any newer datens. Just default code EGS module in ncs expert and paddle shifters will start working again

The flash is awesome. It feels like a car with a newer transmission. Is there a point of getting xHP stage 2,3 or there won't be a big difference ?

I can't personally comment on differences with XHP but I have heard it's a nice improvement over alpina. If you plan to go big power it sounds like it'd be a recommended change

Hello, I have a problem with uploading alpina. Every time I get the same error from winkfp. I tried on two different systems, two different ICOM next and still nothing. Tested on 3 different cars.
1.e92 2012 n55 - I uploaded alpine from half a year ago and now I can't go back to the original software and I can't flash alpina again. Ista p also.
2.e90 2011 n55 - error as below
3. e88 2009 n54 - error as below.

tested 2x icom next, supply 100A

What is wrong ? e92 and e90 have MHD in DME. I have restored the serial soft in DME - the same result for EGS. I've already done it on a few other cars and there was never a problem with uploading alpine ...
Does EGS have an ecu update limit?

What zusb are you choosing? Does it fail right away or fail at a percentage. Post up your winkfp config. I'd try with kdcan (latency 1 ms and comport 1). I'd also try without the 100 amp power supply, I've had a few instances where it wouldn't let me flash with a power supply hooked up for some reason. When I disconnected it and flashed it went through fine.

edit: just saw you can't do any of the 3 cars, are you updating Daten prior to using winkfp?

I updated winkfp with bmw coding tools.
I choose "new alpina" 7603537 - I currently have such a soft e92 2012 n55 in my car - wanting to upload to e90 and e88 I encountered this problem and tried to upload the alpine again in my car and the same result. I tried ISTAp to restore the original software, an error pops up and still doesn't let go.
Like I said, I tested on two different icom next (one ori, the other Chinese), two different laptops (mine and my friend's). I can update everything else without EGS.
I may try a regular kdcan cable without a power supply but I'm afraid of trying to kill EGS this way.

Just flashed my 2011 335i with the Alpina flash and did the paddle shifter fix with the daten from bimmergeeks and NCS expert. Was the first time i used the software and flashed anything and it worked flawlessly.
