as always, it was nice seeing you guys again... i was able to get done most of things today. once i put the quad tomorrow, i would probably shooting for interior trims and exterior window trims... and maybe quad diffuser and some minor stuff later down the road... for the rest, i think i will patiently wait until moog55 (peter) decide to do his mirror and racing seat upgrade... lol
adam - nice meeting you! i would expect to see you more often from now on... joe - thanks for walk me through on JB3 install. it made the installation process piece of cake... really... oh and your LUX 5 and fogs look real good now... hopefully that blinking issue is not a biggie... tuan - also, thanks for helping me out on installation. once you're done painting your trim, let me check that out as well... hurry up and get the otherside painted... will ya? scott - thanks for the beer and great swearing lesson. that was creative... asib - good to see you and have fun with dci and v3... Ladin - special thanks for coming out and taking awesome pictures... last but not the least, to eric - thanks a lot for letting all of us in today and helping me on intake install... food was great too... mae probs to you !!! |

Yes indeed, thanks Eric for the hospitality! It was nice to meet some of the local crew even if I was shivering most of the day. Next time I'll bring a backup jacket and hat Only problem is that now all I can think about is ordering parts ahhaha
Thanks for the pix Landin! I'll put together a new thread for when we can get a photo shoot together.

Anytime guys! And I want to thank everyone for being respectful guests, especially helping to clean up the kitchen and the garage. Definitely wouldn't mine doing this again in the future.
This week looks like it's ACTUALLY gonna be nice, so maybe we can do a shoot somewhere? I'm voting against Bellevue Square.

Nice Brakes scott?(from the pics). How long did it take all in all? Did Peter lowered his M3? How's the JB3 w/ DCI ,David? Is the DCI really a must. |

The front BBK was actually pretty easy, just a lot of wrenching. I started the right front around 10:30 AM and I finished the left front just before 1:00 PM. So, 2.5 hours start to finish. What took a TON of time was doing the mid lines. That was also the projected that generated a near constant string of cussing for 2 hours! The issue is that the upper flare nuts on the hard lines are in a really tight spot, so it doesn't give you a lot of room to work. I've got decently large hands too, so I'm sure that didn't help. The 11mm wrench would swing about 1/8th turn before you had to flip it over to make another 1/8th turn. 2 big hands + not a lot of room = total bitch! I figure I spent nearly 2 hours just to get those two lines installed. The line going into the stock rear caliper is literally a 10 minute job start to finish, except when the wheel is WELDED to the hub! I made the mistake of saying "Sweet! One more line to install and I should be done in 10 minutes!" before I got started. I jinxed myself good. 45 minutes later, mostly spent beating, kicking, swearing, more beating, more swearing and more kicking to get the right rear wheel off the hub. When it finally came off, the replacement SS line was in place and bled in 10 minutes. No leaks detected so far! I'm probably going to have the fluid completely flushed and replaced with the Motul 600 at Eastside Bavarian or Group 2 here soon. I need new fluid before the HPDE season anyway (they require brake fluid to be less than 1 year old.) Overall, I'm happy with the results. The end was worth the effort, although I've got sore muscles in places I had no idea I'd be using for a brake install!

i just took the whole thing back to stock minus dvs... it literally took me 20 minutes from start to finish of uninstalling intake and JB3, which made me feel like a dumb, considering how long it took on sunday... well, there's always gotta be first time... right?

Those are some good shots, Landin. The one shot of mine with all the rain on it makes me laugh. I still can't believe I took her out in the rain. First thing yesterday she got a bath.
There's another meet this Saturday in Kirkland (see other thread). It'd be nice to see a big group of us again like last weekend.
