I had no idea they would inspect the car for free, or as part of something as simple as an oil change. In the past, my dealer quoted me a few hundred to look at the car... then they'd take that money off any work done.

I trust my indy, but a thorough BMW second opinion would be nice to have.

They'll also sometimes do a service clinic once a year where they fully inspect your car. It's really helpful, and you'll get a comically long list of repairs. Plus, you'll get some free dope BMW swag in the form of a coffee mug. I usually go to mine every year.

I did this and prob wont do it again. My SA was down right pissy becuase they saw in 8 years of owning the car I have had zero repairs done by the dealer. So they knew I was just going to get the list and walk.

Neither of these involves replacing the regulator as it's separate from the fan unit. My car makes the chirp, as well. Intend to oil soon and see how long that lasts.

Thanks for the heads-up on the recall guys!
So to clarify, if I hear "chirping" at low fan speeds, I need to replace the fan itself, i.e. the blower motor, right? I know the recall is for the wiring

If you have your receipt, BMW will reimburse you. That's what BMWUSA site reads.

When are they going to recall the bloody hydrolytic pump on the ABS unit. It failed after only 30K km. The dealer wants $3000 for the part :-(

You can send the pump in for rebuild to module masters. Comes with a warranty and only costs like 300.00 instead of 3000

Thanks!

Looks like I'm missing out.

As my 335 is getting up there, I'm really trying to stay ahead of any maintenance or mechanical issues.

Whenever I bring my car in who knows how long it'll take. Took Braman BMW a little over 10 days to change out my airbag and got stuck with the all mighty F30 320i as a loaner

Was told to drop it off on a Saturday morning as they had the part in stock. They suggested I take a loaner as it could be a 'few hours' IIRC and turns out they didn't have the part in stock so I had to wait until it was shipped. I hate the area where this dealer is so I may go to another one for this recall and hopefully get a better loaner

Bingo, but I would just oil the bearing first. Many people find this lasts for years and costs only your time, not $130. I think that's the blower motors going rate?

how long it will take for them to realize they will need to recall the gear shifter wiring as well... its a stupid design where all the wiring gets shewed in and eventually cut...

So my blower motor just started giving me problems high pitch whining noise coming from it. Prob need a new one for a real fix. If I take mine in for recall do they replace just the back part where the wire plugs into? Or the whole thing. If not the whole thing will they just replace the part then put back in a broken blower? Since they are already doing all the labor to replace it can I just buy the blower motor and get free labor?

Then there was the idler pulley problem. They said that the belt is about to fall out. I declined it and checked it out later and all looked fine.

They don’t call them stealerships for nothing.
I would have forced them to do the job again out of spite. Let them start the work and be like oh.. oh wait.. this is free because the work is less than a year old. Whats the warranty 2-3 years and 36k right?

Don't hold your breath on this one. If someone doesn't seriously get hurt there won't be s chance.

Fortunately that's also easy to prevent!

The blower resistors are the heat source to melt the wiring and the connector of the blower motor connector , BMW recalled the connector and wiring, Do you think problem really getting fixed ? I called BMWNA, they were passively avoid comments on the fix, just said no real remedy, don't know what to do.

Could this have anything to do with having to replace my heater core twice?
