Those who are using non-oem blades please clarify if you're using the wiper blade cover. AFAIK the cover won't fit if you use the Bosch or Rain-x blades.

Taking off your wipers is horribly unsafe. What if you get splashed with something that doesn't come off as easy as water (mud?), or what if the rain's pouring too hard to drive without wipers, etc. If you take off your wipers and that happens, please drive off a cliff instead of into other cars.

As mentioned by I335 above, rain-x has its downsides. After much debate, I personally decided not to go with rain-x and just wipe down my blades every now and then during the rainy season. If wiping them doesnt help, it sounds like it's time to get new blades.

Yea, you were doing it wrong somehow. I've used rainx for a while, then i just went and got the rainx washer fluid. No skipping around of wiper blades here.

OP, just because you have CPO doesn't mean you get new wiper blades. CPO is for warranty work. The extended maintenance plan 'MP' will get you new wiper blades, brakes/rotors etc... For a 2008 M3 (which I have), the MP costs $3295.00. Check to see if someone has purchase the 'MP' prior to you owning the car. It covers all maintenance items (wear and tear) after the 50K mark.

FYI, I like the OEM blades myself...

I just put on the PIAA Silicone Sporzas, and so far they are excellent, skip-free, and whisper quiet.

The Sporza model includes the aerodynamic foil for both blades. They were about $50 a set from BavAuto.

Discuss.

If your blades look good and they continue to chatter, try clay barring your windshield. It gets all the impurities off the glass like it does on your paint.

Well they told me since I spent over $260 out of pocket on a CPO non covered repair, I had a coupon for free wiper blades, and they will honor it.

My question will these be the cheap metal blades you find at kmart, or the flex style inserts like came with my 2006 325xi new? They carry the rain x style which is fine I just want the same flex stlye.

Will the metal POS ones even work on my 06 325?

Can anyone tell me for certain which blades work on a 2007 335i e90? I keep trusting amazon.com's recs and they keep failing me.

That plastic piece that fits over the top of the blades keeps hitting every blade i've tried.

Rain-X latitudes don't fit.
Silblade WB124S Premium don't fit.

I've had problems with Rain X too. Be careful because now they sell blades that actually apply the Rain X as they wipe. Sorry, but putting a difficult to remove film on a windshield can't be good.

After some crazy research into wiper blades it looks like you have at least two non-oem wiper options:

1. Valeo Ultimate Flat Wipers
2. Bosch Icon

The wiper hinge covers will fit over both. I've already tried the Valeo wiper blades for a couple months over the winter, they have average wiping performance, but I found that they made a loud sound when the wiper changes direction. The were as loud as OEM wipers.

I just got a pair of the Bosch Icon wipers, hopefully these will be quieter.

I rain-x the hell out of the windshield, so I rarely use wipers. But when I do, I just got a pair of OEMs from Tischer

I use rain X, but was tired of streaks after I applied it. Now I do 2 applications of Rain X, and then wipe the windows with a damp cloth which gets rid of the streaks.

Rain x wipers are garbage. Stock or Bosch work the best for me.

What did you guys do with the Rain-x Blades that don't fit the wiper cover. I'm using them anyway but i'm afraid the cap may pop off.

What sizes on the Bosch Icons do I need to order? Thanks for the info. The hinge covers fitting is the main criteria for me, besides performance of course. The name Bosch alone tells me they are good blades.

I've still be using the same pair of Bosch Icon blades since this thread was originally posted.

If you car has the plastic hinge covers, Bosch Icon blade #460 and #464, 19" and 24", should fit. Double-check to be sure.

Also, it appears that Bosch Icon #464 and #460 have been updated to new part numbers, #19a and #24a. I looked at the detailed image from Amazon and it seems like the newer model's connection point to the wiper arm is chunkier. The plastic hinge cover may not clear these newer Icon models, but I've not yet confirmed that.

Thank you! I was able to find some 460s and 464s for around 48 shipped.

The OEM blades have been annoying to me as they make a LOT of noise. I bought some Bosch blades which were perfect until the dealer changed them back to OEM during my maintenance. Oh well. I am now using Aquapel and it is working better than RainX ever did for me and the noise is gone from the OE blades. I will probably get Bosch blades in the future.
