Full set of used winter tyres 18"

Full winter setup to suit MV3's or similar. Preference will be given to those in the Aberdeen area who can collect as I'm short on time to arrange a courier.

The tyres are Toyo Snowprox S953, front 2 are 225/40/18, rear 2 are 245/40/18. They look perfect on MV3's, in fact the only reason these are for sale is because I bought an identical set for an unmissable price.

No idea on tread depths as I've lost my gauge, obviously the rears are lowest but I'd estimate they are still 4mm+ as the sipes are still visibly deep.

Front two barely look touched. One of the fronts has a bit of damage but I ran them the whole of last winter and some of this year with no problems. The tyres have rim protectors so a portion of it is that, price is adjusted to allow for it anyway.

Only after £170 if collected, courier at your own cost if posted.

Bump, just incase anyone doesn't fancy getting stuck in the next while! This is a damn cheap set of winters.

Are the backs really 245x40 profile as that would be a higher profile than standard setup?

255/35/18 is same as 245/40/18

you always go 1 size down and 1 size down with witer tyres.

Ummmmmmm don't think so, those sizes are not the same rolling radius and you would never increase profile just because they are winters unless you were dropping an inch in wheel diameter.

Yes they are 245/40, if you go back through old threads there are loads of people running the same sizes for the simple reason 245/40 are a lot easier to get hold of with far greater choice.

Diameter difference is 2.69%, meaning your speedo will read slightly slower.

They look superb in this size hence why I've just fitted the exact same tyres/sizes again.

Hope that helps.

In my car tyres are like this 245 35 19 for front and 275 30 19 for the rear. Now I don't want to spend £££ to swap them with winter tyres. Would this be a nice fit to a spare 18" rim set I have got waiting in my garage?

Looks too narrow from my current specs but I think winter tyres are suppose to be narrow. Can someone please suggest if these size compatible?

If the wheels are genuine BMW then there's a good chance these will fit straight on, they are suitable for any E90 with a staggered 18" wheel setup i.e. MV3s or similar.

These aren't really much narrower, infact the fronts are the exact same size as OE. I wouldn't get too taken in when people say winters need to be narrower, maybe for optimal performance yes but these perform amazingly and still keep your car looking good through winter!
