San Fernando Valley (818) members...

Hello fellas, I'm making this thread to see if there is any interest for local photoshoot(s).

During the past year, photography became a hobby to me. I'm not a pro like Diesel or anything like that, but rather a n00b to the world of photography. I grew tired and bored of taking pictures of the same cars over and over again (my friends' cars). I want to see if anyone here would like to set up a photoshoot. The invite is opened to everyone, stock and modded. This will give me a chance to shoot new cars and a chance for you to (hopefully, hehe) get some nice pictures taken of your car.

What I'm using..

Some pix I've taken...

MP is not that really important of a feature unless you plan on blowing up the pictures to poster size. The camera is around 7mp I believe, I'm not even 100% sure. I don't use flash in any of the pictures, I just find well lit parking structures. For the night pictures, I used custom settings so I can adjust the iso speed accordingly if need be. If you have a simple point a shoot, put it in night mode, that will have ok result as well.
The tip is to use a tripod since some cameras will react more slower since no flash is being used.

For those wondering, I live in Pacoima. The pictures were taken at a parking structure at Cal State Northridge, the new parking structure at the Topanga Canyon Mall, and the parking lot by the Dept of Power and Water in Burbank.

I'm open to new locations, as I know very limited places that will serve as good backgrounds. What days are the best for you guys?

I'm not charging for these pictures as I'm not a pro, lol. It would be cool if you can have a buddy drive one of your cars so we can get both at the same time! Day or night is up to the owner of the car.

I can do the shoots on either Friday nights or if you want a day shoot, anytime during Sundays. This is the two set days that I have available each week (unless something comes up).

On Friday nights, it would be have to be quite late as there are late shoppers at the mall, and I always study on Friday nights from 7-11pm. So I go around 11:30PM to do the shoots at the Topanga Canyon Mall.

On Sunday, it can be at anytime since the new parking lot at CSUN is pretty much empty. Note that I can not do a shoot on this Sunday as I have a big Organic Chemistry test on Monday

Avg photoshoot is about 1-2 hours depending on how clear the pix come out the first time around.

Here are some pictures and the difference between the parking lots IMO. The CSUN lot gives a more dark and gloomy atmosphere...this is where pix of this white Evo were taken.

While the parking lot at the Topanga Canyon Mall gives a more bright setting...

Daytime at CSUN (very very bad timing here as the sun was bright and to make things worst, red cars are the hardest to photoshop, that's why it's kind of blotchy).

The hard part about a day time shoot is that we need to do it at a time interval where the sun doesn't become an enemy

It is not necessary to have a group shoot since I know it may be hard to find a time frame that fits everyones schedule. Individual shoots are fine as well. I wish I were available 24/7, but the last couple years of college is kicking my butt
