Broken ABS sensor connector - harness side

Hi,

It seems after 16 years, the plastic of the harness side connector becomes too brittle to handle. When trying to replace my ABS sensor, I manage to break all tabs, so now I need to order a repair kit, which I identified as BMW part 61129151113 - Repair Cable Pulse Generator ABS.

Has anyone done this before? I figured I need to solder it to the harness, but is there an official repair procedure? Are the wires marked as +|-?

I accidentally cut a longer wire about midway between the above mentioned

replacement connector. I will buy the connector for about 20 dollars and note

the type of wire used to transmit the signal to box under the dash.

I do not already know the wire or the signal type, but have background and

associate degree in electronics and can figure it out.

That pigtail looks like a solder-less repair kit. It looks to have crimp connectors at the end of the wires that crimp onto the body-side of the speed sensor harness. The two white tubes look to be heat shrink.

For polarity you'll need an ohm meter to check pin polarity position of the old connector vs. new. Generally on BMWs the striped wire is signal and the solid is ground.
