What about an FRP that has perfect fitment? Is FRP bad because of fitment concerns or because of quality/durability concerns?

I've already looked into doing this group buy but gave up. Lingyue is indeed the manufacturer that Game and at least 5 other forum members have bought from. Fitment is not perfect but ok.

I'll be down for a LCI bumper if the group buy goes through and nonfiberglass materials.

There are bumpers on eBay for under $700. Here's one that that's $673 OBO.

For what you would pay to get that Duraflex bumper fitting properly you might as well just buy the painted LTMW version.

No one here purchased an EBAY 1M bumper for their e92? Duraflex is really that bad?

Duraflex = fiberglass so for the most part no people usually hold out for PP bumpers which is why I was going to try (for a 3rd time) to set up a GB. If not enough people are interested, I'll just order 3 for myself, sell 2 privately and use the money for more parts this winter.

I like this idea. If it stays somewhere in this price range ($1000ish) I'm in.

Yeah the goal will be to keep the total cost under $1000. I am just starting out by gauging interest in it to see if I should go ahead and work a deal out with the vendor.

Hey all!

Ok so last month my car (e93) was in the shop for some other work and while it was there I discussed putting a 1M bumper on. The body guy said no problem and said he would look into it and give me the deets. He found one (Duraflex) for a great price and ordered it for me.

Big mistake..huge...

Turns out that the only way that the Duraflex bumper will fit is if the shop were to cut out a part of my front support structure. Obviously that was a HELL NO!

He claimed to have tried every way he could think of to try and mount it but it wasn't possible, when he called the seller they confirmed that it did indeed require modifying the frame.

Since neither of us wanted to do that he ended up sending it back to them, after a bit of a battle and return shipping was on me. And truthfully he said the condition of the bumper was shit, I would have paid almost as much as the bumper itself just to have it smoothed out and fitted.

I did however speak to a new vendor today, specifically asked him about fitment and he called the manufacturer to verified that it would not require any modifications on the car, just the same light sanding and hole drilling. It is a fiberglass kit so i'm ehhhh about it all but he's going to get back to me later on with a quote. They're located in Cali and the manufacturer is giving a ship date of mid aug.

Duraflex is a nightmare. Never get. Do a search. 100s of people saying how bad it is. Return and get your money back asap. Also, any other fiberglass is all made by the same manufacturer. Cancel the order. Polypropylene is the only thing you should get and only thing that fits.

Two pages of thread and no one even has a picture of the bumper on an e92. Disappointment.

Edit: It looks amazing.
