ABS Issue need some ideas for what is next

This is my 1st post, I have a 2011 e90 328i X sedan with N52 engine, GM 6L45 trans. The last couple of months I have performed many maintenance items as well as fix various oil leaks: still have various codes being displayed. Using a foxwell scanner the one issue I can’t seem to figure out are these codes: 2FE4, 581C, 5E3B, 55C6. Per the scanner, it is telling me the rear left wheel speed sensor is not functioning properly. I purchased a cheap sensor from Oreilly’s, but when I was in the process of removing the sensor, I noticed what appeared to be a mice nest in the void, it also appeared that the mice had chewed thru the wiring exposing the wire. When reviewing the speed on the scan tool, it appears that the sensor occasionally “cuts” out. Before replacing the sensor, I spliced a new solid core wires where the mice chewed, then when for a drive, with the original sensor, still no change on the scan tool, then I replaced the original sensor with the O’reilly part then went for a test drive. The O’rielly sensor had no input. Upon further investigation does the rear cv axle have an ABS band? I could not see one as i rotated the wheel while looking down the sensor hole. I really could use some suggestions. I also broke the blue locking tab that the sensor plugs into, as of now I have reinstalled the original sensor and taped the connectors together, but have not had a chance to drive it again.

It doesn't appear to have an external reluctor wheel. Perhaps it is integrated or there are magnets inside the axle assembly.

I would suggest getting a genuine sensor replacement.

Not sure if it is your exact year but reference via Real OEM website.

Bims328i, thanks for the information. I confirmed that the rear passenger does not have the ring, so it must be in the bearing. Now I am thinking it is the bearing that needs to be replace.

Wouldn't it need to be something on the hub of the axle?

Checking the Bently manual it appears there is a ring of magnets.

Now I'm curious where these "ring of magnets" are located in the carrier.
