Installing New Shock/Strut Bushings/Mounts for New Spring/Shock/Strut Install?

My car has 75K miles on it. I was going to have the new shocks/struts/springs installed today but one of the folks at the shop recommended I should change the bushings. I forgot to think of this. I was recommended to just change the rear.

I'm wondering what everyone's thought is on this and which kit to get.

The most available option for me is the Dinan kit (just for the rear):
http://dinancars.com/product/d110-00...?series=&mid=/
http://dinancars.com/product/d110-00...?series=&mid=/

Then there's:
http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-11...n-m-or-xi.aspx

Do I need to replace the front/back or would those Dinan's work? They have a 10MM & 12MM version and I'm guessing i'd want the 10MM since 12 could hamper the shock performance.

What I'm installing is an Eibach Pro Kit with Koni FSDs.

I just did the B12 Kit and got the Turner Upper Front/Rear Mount Kit as well. Highly recommend it since it won't alter the install cost.

Is the Turner kit any different than stock? I don't think I'll be able to get those parts by my install time unless they're in CA.

As far as I know it is stock. Just packaged for some cost savings.

Just called the dealer...$500 so far just for the front and they're looking up my rear parts (they needed last 7 digits of vin)

...yeah I really think the Turner version is a MUCH better deal. Holy shit.

The dealership wanted $1600 for just a front shock install, lol.

I'd get the front mounts at turner, seemed to be the best price. The rear shocks I believe are just bushings/dust boots and I think your shocks come with those anyway.

No, this isn't the install price-this is the cost for:

1-Front upper strut mounts (also known as a guide support)
2-Rear upper-top shock mounts
3-Rear upper-middle shock mounts
4-Rear upper-bottom shock mounts
5-Rear upper supporting cup (sits over bump stop)
6-Rear lower shock mount (installs on spring arm)

The problem is my install, which I've been waiting for a week, is tomorrow. I'll be out of state after that so I'm pressed to get it done. I think I can do without the guide support/front upper mounts.

See if you can get your shock mounts at Advanced Auto, they might have some in stock for you. They are pretty pricey though, since mine were a discounted price of $80 each.

ECS has a full kit for front and back. I am actually looking into this for myself as well. My car only has 50xxx"km" though. I don't know if it would even be worth changing on my car.

The turner kit gets you what you need but I would recommend adding those Dinan 10mm upper rear shock mounts; the oem foam ones are too soft and deflect.

I called Dinan today..they said they only work with Diana shocks/struts...so shitty..but I think the rep didn't realize that's the 12MM moodel.

This model:
http://dinancars.com/product/d110-00...ries&mid=1012/

Says specifically not for use with Dinan shocks (I think they use Koni). I wanna know if anyone else has used these mounts.

I have used the 10mm top mounts with Koni Sport shocks and now my KW's. The 12mm mounts are for their top adjustable Koni shocks.

btw, I wouldn't get Koni FSD's if you didn't buy them yet; Koni Sports are much better; I've used both.

I already got the FSDs. I didn't want Koni at all, honestly. I wanted Bilstein HDs but they were backordered..

This is a daily driver, that's why I chose the FSDs. They match really well with the Eibach Pro-Kit (I have that setup on my Wife's E92 coupe and it rides really nice). I commute in and out of the city so the roads are nasty.

Just wanted to update, the Dinan Rear Upper Shock Mount Kit (D110-0008) directly fits right onto the Koni FSDs and works great. The ride is really smooth, smoother than stock with the Eibach Pro Kit. It also tightens up real nice when cornering. I'm very happy with the setup.

Not surprised given that's exactly what they state on the product page:

Compatible with any stock or aftermarket shock (including Dinan D140-0945).

So I thought as well however, when I called Dinan yesterday, the rep on the phone was uncertain as to if they would fit or not despite the explicit notes provided on their site. He said the site was being updated and he wasn't sure if the information was accurate.

What did you have before this? Stock sport or non sport suspension? Im not sure if you mentioned it.

The current setup your saying handles better and is a more comfortable ride? Ill have to look into that setup for my sport suspension e92.

Do you have any current pics to show the eibach/koni setup's ride height?

This isn't a great shot but I'll take more later when the weather clears up. I'm in a office all day and the garage is really dark. The ride quality about a month later is still awesome and it settled a little bit lower than I expected. It looks really good when driving, the tires tuck nicely as the car squats from acceleration.

Still, NO rubbing. It only rubbed once when I fell into a dip at a high speed on the freeway with 4 people in the car (kind of expected, though).

Cool. So the Dinan kit came with all except the pockets, hats and dust seal.

Perfect! This answers exactly what I needed to know since description said 10 mm works for koni nonadjustable. But makes sense the body turning kind don't make a difference for the top mount. Thanks!

If I get powerflex RSM, what do I need to buy while swapping rear shocks to freshen it up? Bottom mount? More?
