I find, for the average person. During daily driving. You'll find ceramic pads to be "meh" at best... The initial bite, is lack luster I find. That's a majority of brake pads tho. So I can't point fingers at one brand.

Only when you start driving more spirited, pumping some heat into them. Will you ever think "damn, these are good!"

That's just my personal opinion... I've been through a few different sets, currently trying Hawk HPS, and they are average. Minimal to no dust, but the braking performance is mediocre.

I'm no track junky, nor a professional. Im just some guy on the internet voicing his opinion.

Dust is dust. Don't be lazy, and clean your wheels. If someone told me there was a "stop on a dime" kind of pad. That would require me to clean my wheels weekly. I'd totally be about it!

I have Zimmerman cross driller sport rotors & akebono pads front & rear. No issues. You do have to bed or burnish the pads to the new rotors. You do this by speeding up to 60mph and breaking hard to 15mph (8x) in a row. You shouldn't break so hard that you set off the ABS system though. You also need to be careful to try and not set off the ABS system in the first 500 miles, during the break in period. Akebono pads might take 1000 miles to break in and get their bite.

I do have SS lines & brass caliper pin sleeves, which of course give you much better pedal feel. I think the Cross Drilled rotors give the car a more linear feel when braking. Last, I only use DOT 4 racing brake fluid.

My point is that don't expect just a pad to be a miracle drug. If you really want great brakes, its a combination of upgrading multiple components.

I don't think Akebono Euro Ceramic pads are an upgrade to the OEM pad, from a braking standpoint. It's probably comparable, at best. I do absolutely feel that they an upgrade from the OEM pad regarding brake dust. I can barely see any brake dust at all. I have used Akebono Euro Ceramic pads on my car and my wife's x5 for years. No issues what so ever.
