6MT Fluid Suggestions in Florida
Hey guys, I've spent way too much time searching the forums in search of an answer I simply cannot find. I just replaced my clutch at 28k due to oil seeping into the trans and ruining everything. I spilled some fluid out while installing the trans and need suggestions on what I should run for new fluid. I live in South Florida and the weather hardly ever dips below 55 degrees Fahrenheit and is normally hot. Do I want a thicker oil due to not having to worry about cold days? My trans has the blue sticker that specifies MTF-LT-3, what aftermarket alternatives would you guys run in my position?

Just stick with the MTF-LT-3.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Well I think he meant anything that follow the BMW MTF-LT-3.
For example I used this Febi fluid that meets MTF-LT-3 spec and my MT is doing fine like it did before and I'm in -20c weather in winters. |
