Catted DP that won't throw codes

I've seen/read mixed reviews about catted DP's that cause a check engine light because they cannot convert emissions as well as the stock downpipe. Is there hard evidence as to which aftermarket DP's are good enough to not throw codes?

Here are the options available. I'm leaning towards Wagner at this point:
  • AFE: $795
  • AR: $805
  • CP-E: $1034
  • VRSF: $475
  • Wagner: $790
  • Cobb: $850

I just installed a VRSF catless DP and and it's a little too loud for me, too much drone, and the smell isn't great either. I have factory performance exhaust.

I have a Cobb catted I’ll trade you if you pay shipping for both! Any catted downpipe could potentially throw a code tho as well

Has about 25k on it and yes it does throw a code. Same risk you will take with any catted downpipe. Don’t know if any that guarantee not to throw a code. No smell of fumes tho

You can get an exhaust that comes with a bypass sensor that will get rid of the code.

My exhaust is all stock expect the downpipe and it sounds very good when I get on it even alittle. I just want to try out catless, if I don’t like the smell I’ll gladly go back to catted. I think my car sounds alittle deeper than a catless downpipe car.

Pretty sure that still won’t show readiness with 02 sensors just stop the code. Kind of no point in that when mhd does the same.

Been running my E92 N55 for 18 months with the Wagner catted DP and zero issues with an MHD Stage 2+ map, even in my state which has very strict emissions standards. Jeff at Top Gear Solutions was super knowledgeable (no affiliation, just a happy customer). YMMV

Wagner has the least instances of throwing a CEL for us
